Technology Engineer AI Solutions & Automation

Senior Individual Contributor | Reports to CIO | Remote | Full-Time

About the Role

We're looking for a senior technology engineer who thinks like a solutions architect, not a software developer. You will report directly to the CIO and act as a highly autonomous, enterprise-wide problem solver: identifying inefficiencies across business functions, designing AI-driven solutions to fix them, and orchestrating execution using AI tools and agents rather than a traditional development team.

This is not a hands-on coding role in the traditional sense — you may write scripts when needed, but your primary value is architecting integrations, evaluating build-vs-AI-vs-vendor tradeoffs, and communicating solutions clearly to executive leadership. This is also not a people-management role: your "team" will often be a set of AI agents and tools you configure and direct.

What You'll Do

- Partner directly with the CIO and business leaders (Finance, HR, Legal, Clinical/Operations, etc.) to identify technology and process inefficiencies
- Architect integrations between enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, clinical or financial platforms) — designing the data flow and control points, not just writing the code
- Evaluate the economics of the technology stack across business units and propose automation or consolidation that reduces cost or avoids incremental headcount
- Design and deploy AI-driven solutions (LLM-based extraction, classification, chatbots, agents) to replace manual or legacy processes
- Write scripts or lightweight code (Python, PowerShell, or similar) only where necessary to connect systems or validate a solution
- Exhaust in-house,



AI-enabled options before recommending a vendor or an external development engagement
- Take existing legacy solutions, identify the lowest-risk component, and incrementally modernize it using current AI tooling — demonstrating clear change management
- Communicate proposed solutions to C-level and non-technical stakeholders in a clear, structured way: problem, approach, and expected outcome, without unnecessary technical depth
- Maintain awareness of data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA) relevant to the environment

What You'll Bring Mindset & Experience

- Experience operating as an architect or senior engineer who designs solutions rather than one who primarily implements tickets
- Demonstrated ability to translate a business cost or efficiency problem into a technical solution, and to quantify the resulting impact (e.g., cost savings, time savings)
- Comfort working with high autonomy and minimal oversight, reporting into an executive stakeholder rather than a technical manager
- A track record of modernizing or re-architecting an existing system or process, including how risk and rollout were managed
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare) and familiarity with relevant compliance frameworks is a solid plus

Technical Skills

- Practical, hands-on experience using enterprise LLM platforms (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI)



to solve real business problems — able to speak precisely about which model, licensing tier, and integration pattern was used
- Working knowledge of system integration patterns: APIs (REST/SOAP), middleware, and data pipelines across structured and unstructured data stores
- Scripting ability in at least one of Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript, used pragmatically rather than as a primary daily activity
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code and enterprise automation tooling (e.g., Power Automate, Power Platform, or equivalent)
- Exposure to CRM/ERP or industry-specific platforms relevant to the business (e.g., Salesforce, financial or clinical systems) is a plus, but depth in any single platform matters less than pattern recognition across systems

Communication Skills (Screened Live)

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to structure an answer as: context, problem, strategy, and outcome
- Demonstrated experience engaging directly with C-suite or senior business leaders
- Ability to explain a technical architecture at a whiteboard level — clearly enough that a non-technical executive can follow the logic and ask informed follow-up questions

- Executives trust you to explain complex technology decisions in minutes, not hours
- Legacy systems and processes are continuously and incrementally modernized with managed risk
