Role Summary

We are seeking a Technical Documentation Engineer to develop, manage, and maintain technical documentation for railway and engineering products throughout the product lifecycle. The role involves preparing specifications, compliance reports, manuals, test documentation, quality plans, and customer deliverables in coordination with Engineering, QA, Production, and Project teams. The incumbent will ensure all documentation is technically accurate, compliant with applicable standards, professionally formatted using Adobe InDesign, and controlled through effective document revision management.

Roles Responsibilities

- Review and analysis of technical specifications, RFQs and requirements received from clients, and identification of applicable documentation requirements.

- Preparation and maintenance of Compliance Reports against client RFQs, technical specifications and applicable standards.

- Preparation and maintenance of Technical, Hardware and Software Specifications in coordination with Engineering teams.

- Preparation and formatting of product data-sheets, technical leaflets, brochures and product-related documentation.

- Preparation, revision and maintenance of Hardware and Software User Manuals, Installation Manuals and Operating Manuals.

- Preparation and maintenance of Test Plans, Test Procedures and Type Test Plans/Procedures (TTP) in coordination with Engineering and QA teams.

- Preparation and maintenance of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) based on project and customer requirements.

- Preparation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICD)



in coordination with relevant Engineering teams.

- Coordination with Engineering/QA teams for FMEA and FMECA activities and preparation/maintenance of related documentation.

- Preparation and maintenance of RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) documentation based on inputs from Engineering and project teams.

- Preparation and maintenance of Maintenance Manuals, Service Manuals and Periodic Overhauling (POH) documentation.

- Preparation and maintenance of Unit Assembly, Installation and Work Instruction documents.

- Preparation and maintenance of Product Tree, Product Architecture and system/sub-system breakdown documentation.

- Preparation, formatting and finalization of technical documents using Adobe InDesign, including implementation of approved templates, styles, layouts, tables, figures and graphics.

- Document revision management, incorporating engineering/customer comments, maintaining revision history and ensuring consistency across controlled documents.

- Coordinate with Hardware, Software, Mechanical, QA, Production and Project teams to collect technical inputs and ensure timely completion of documentation.

Tools/Software

- Adobe InDesign- Mandatory

- MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint- Proficiency required

- Experience with PDF/document management tools

- Knowledge of engineering drawing/documentation tools will be an added advantage.

Skills/Expertise

- Adobe InDesign proficiency - Mandatory,



with hands-on experience in professional technical document formatting and publishing.

- Positive understanding of technical writing, editing, proofreading and document formatting, with strong attention to detail.

- Understanding of applicable RDSO, EN and IEC standards relevant to railway products and technical documentation.

- Ability to understand and interpret technical information, including engineering drawings, schematics, tables and diagrams.

- Ability to communicate effectively with Engineering, QA, Software, Production and Project teams to obtain and clarify technical information.

- Railway industry experience is preferred, particularly in railway electronics or related engineering products.

- Good planning, organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple documentation assignments and meet deadlines.

- Willingness to learn new technologies, tools and documentation standards and take ownership of assigned documentation activities.
