Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Team Lead with strong experience in real-time voice systems, Conversational AI, VoIP, and telephony engineering.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience with LiveKit, FreeSWITCH/Asterisk, SIP, GSM/SIP Gateways, WebRTC, STT, TTS, LLM APIs, Python, and backend engineering.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, deployment, and operation of voice and telephony systems.
- Design and manage systems using LiveKit, FreeSWITCH/Asterisk, SIP/GSM Gateways, WebRTC, and real-time audio.
- Integrate STT, TTS, LLM, and other AI APIs.
- Manage call flows, routing, dialplans, session management, and gateway integrations.
- Troubleshoot SIP, VoIP, audio quality, latency, reliability, and concurrency issues.
- Analyze production issues and implement permanent root-cause fixes.
- Design systems for scalability, low latency, reliability, and fault tolerance.
- Review code and architecture and establish engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Plan tasks, coordinate delivery, deployments, and production incidents.
- Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance metrics.

Technical RequirementsMust Have




- 4–5 years of backend/software engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Python, asyncio, concurrency, and event-driven systems.
- Experience building Voicebots, Conversational AI, or real-time voice applications.
- Strong understanding of SIP and VoIP.
- Experience with FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, or similar platforms.
- Experience with SIP/GSM Gateways and LiveKit or similar frameworks.
- Good understanding of WebRTC and real-time audio streaming.
- Experience integrating STT, TTS, and LLM APIs.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, WebSockets, streaming APIs, retries, timeouts, and rate limiting.
- Strong Linux, Git, debugging, and production troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite.

Leadership & Engineering Skills
- Ability to own systems from design through production support.
- Strong system design, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to balance latency, scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Experience mentoring engineers and conducting code/design reviews.
- Ability to estimate, prioritize, and deliver technical work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Valuable to Have
- Experience with LiveKit Agents or similar frameworks.
- Advanced FreeSWITCH/Asterisk experience.
- Experience handling large-scale concurrent calling systems.
- Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Docker, Cloud, or Kubernetes.
- Experience with multilingual speech/NLP.
- Automated testing and CI/CD experience.
- Experience with telephony/provider cost optimization.

Ideal Candidate A hands-on technical leader who can design architecture, build core components, integrate AI and telephony systems, troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, mentor engineers, and take ownership of end-to-end delivery. Experience with LiveKit, FreeSWITCH/Asterisk, SIP/GSM Gateways, Python, and STT/TTS/LLM integrations will be highly preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
