About 3DE Global

3D Engineering Global is a structural steel detailing company with offices in Australia, USA, Middle East, and Trichy, India. We produce Tekla Structures models, shop drawings, erection drawings and MTOs for fabricators building mining, port, industrial, energy and data centre projects, and we have won Tekla BIM Awards in 2021 and 2023.

The industry is changing and we are the ones changing it. Where appropriate, AI already sits inside our workflow. It supports our team to be able to deliver at the next level and ensures we are not left as obsolete in the quick-changing world we are in. What it does not do is make the call. It does not put steel in the model, and it does not sign off on the model or the drawings. Those are the jobs we are hiring for.

About the role

You will lead the modelling on a project: set up the model, hold the standards, resolve the hard connections, and guide the modellers working with you. You will be the person the checker and the project manager talk to about the model, and the person who knows why every decision in it was made.

What you will do

Set up Tekla Structures models to client and 3DE standards and keep them clean through revisions

Model complex connections, stairs, handrails and miscellaneous steel where the component library does not reach

Manage revisions, notices of change and locked members so nothing moves without a record





Review the work of modellers on your project before it goes to the checker

Raise and answer RFIs, and coordinate with the client's engineer when the design needs a decision

Use, test and give feedback through our QMS to improve the AI and automation tools we are building into the workflow

What you bring

6 or more years of Tekla Structures modelling on structural steel, with at least one project where you led the model

Sound understanding of fabrication and erection, and of how a bad model becomes a bad day on site

Working English, written and spoken. Clear written English for RFIs, mark-ups and client calls

Experience with Australian, US, UK or Middle East standards and clients is an advantage

An interest in where detailing is going, and the confidence to challenge a tool that is wrong

How we work

Every drawing is self-checked by the person who produced it, then independently checked by a second person before it is issued. We work to written procedures under our QMS, and we expect people to use the tools we are building, question them, and tell us when they are wrong.

Location and hours

This role is full-time, on-site in our Trichy office, working on projects for Australia, the USA, the UK and the Middle East.
