Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Final Reviewer to independently review and finalize US tax returns to a filing-ready standard with minimal oversight from senior reviewers. The role is intended to absorb a portion of the final review workload currently handled by the Senior Managers, allowing them to focus on large and complex engagements. Initially, the Final Reviewer will handle smaller and less complex returns, with the first several returns routed through a senior reviewer to ensure alignment with the firm’s methodology.

The role is expected to grow into an independent finalizer capable of handling the full review scope.

Work Schedule

- 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM – Work from Office
- 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM – Work from Home

Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Return Review & Finalization

- Independently review and finalize US business (multi-entity, multi-state) tax returns to a filing-ready standard.
- Review and finalize individual (Form 1040) returns, including multi-state filings.
- Handle a high volume of returns while maintaining accuracy, quality, and timely turnaround.
- Focus initially on smaller, less complex returns, progressively taking on complex returns year over year.

1. Technical Review & Compliance

- Ensure technical accuracy across Pass-Through Entity (PTE) tax, state withholding, State and Local Tax (SALT), and multi-state apportionment.
- Identify and resolve high-risk areas, discrepancies, and errors before filing.
- Ensure returns comply with applicable federal and state tax regulations.

1. Tax Research

- Independently conduct tax research to resolve complex or non-standard client situations.
- Apply research conclusions accurately to return preparation and review.

1. Off-Season Contribution

- Prepare and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)



and review checklists during the non-tax season.
- Support the second filing season (September–October) and related extension work.
- Prepare financial statements where required (added advantage).
- Support tax planning engagements (added advantage).

1. Process Alignment & Onboarding

- During the initial months, route completed returns through a senior reviewer (on a first-review basis) to confirm methodology and process alignment.
- Adapt preparation and review techniques to the firm’s internal processes and standards.

Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure all work complies with internal processes and accounting / tax standards.
- Coordinate closely with the Senior Managers and follow review feedback promptly.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all assigned returns.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–5 years of hands-on US taxation experience, preferably in return finalization / review.
- Working knowledge of multi-entity and multi-state business tax returns; multi-state exposure on individual (1040) returns.
- Strong understanding of PTE tax, state withholding, SALT, and apportionment.
- Ability to independently conduct tax research and arrive at well-supported conclusions.
- Ability to handle a large volume of returns without compromising quality.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (mandatory).
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak tax season (essential)

Preferred / Added Advantage
- Proficiency in UltraTax software.
- Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or Indian CA qualification (preferential).
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Exposure to US tax planning.
- Experience working in a CPA firm or US accounting workplace.
