Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Student Counselor role based in Perinthalmanna.

The Student

Counselor will meet with prospective students and families to understand academic backgrounds, career aspirations, and financial considerations, and recommend appropriate study abroad options. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, explaining admission processes, assisting with application and documentation, and guiding students on university and course selection. The role involves maintaining accurate records of student interactions, following up on inquiries, and collaborating with internal teams to support admission procedures and visa guidance.

Counselor is also expected to participate in outreach activities, information sessions, and events to promote YCS services and ensure a professional, supportive experience for every student.

Qualifications

- Strong student counseling skills, with the ability to provide personalized guidance on study abroad options.
- Career counseling skills to help students align academic choices with long-term professional goals.
- Excellent communication skills, including explicit verbal and written interaction with students and families.
- Customer service skills to ensure responsive, respectful, and solution-oriented support throughout the counseling process.
- Understanding of education systems and admission processes for international universities, especially in Asian and budget-friendly destinations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Social Sciences, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in student advising, study abroad consulting, or academic counseling is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Kozhikode, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with basic office software and online communication tools; familiarity with CRM systems is beneficial.
- Strong ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine interest in supporting student success.
