Job Summary The Insights and Product Analytics team (IPA) organization is responsible for business performance of all research products and performs analysis related to all aspects of Gartner's Business and Technology Insights business unit.

The Retention

Analytics and Applied IVR team within IPA is at the forefront of harnessing the latest analytics and AI advancements to define paths to higher client retention. The team leads analytics across several fronts spanning content, interactions, conferences and all other Gartner client facing assets. The team also leads critical pillars like associate performance analytics, budget and financial analysis (in partnership with the finance organization).

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who is a highly analytical problem solver, possessing solid business acumen and willingness to act as a bridge between business execution and advanced analytics. This role requires deep understanding of analytical techniques, foundational understanding of data science concepts and the ability to present to senior business leaders.

What you will do

- Own problem structuring, analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives and key, cross-organizational deliverables.
- Partner with data scientist and data engineering teams to develop scalable and advanced analytics-based solutions that directly help with improved client retention.
- Analyze large amounts of data to derive business insights
- Play a key role in an effort to harness the full potential of Gartner's proprietary data.
- Interact with business leaders to understand their pain areas and build solutions catering to their needs.





What you will need

- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive business experience involving data/business analytics.
- Foundational understanding of Data Science concepts. Ability to explain the business implementation of data science.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required with a concentration in statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or operations research preferred
- Strong technical understanding of data and skills to analyze as well as visualize it
- Basics of programming languages e.g. Python, R, SQL
- Exceptional problem solving: Proven track record of solving complex problems, critical thinking, analytical reasoning, innovation, and using data to influence senior level stakeholders. Demonstrated thought leadership with high business impact throughout career
- Statistical analysis including the ability to identify patterns and trends in the data, avoid bias and apply the right models / methodologies / calculations
- Attention to detail e.g., data hygiene, quality checks, documentation etc
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills in a highly matrixed environment. Influencing stakeholders and team members based on a command of the facts, analysis, and implications
- Outstanding verbal and written communication - structured, engaging, and compelling
