Role Description The Design Engineer will be responsible for handling the design and engineering activities for Commercial & Industrial (C&I;) solar projects. The role involves preparing and reviewing technical designs, layouts, SLDs, string configurations, engineering calculations, and project documentation while coordinating with internal teams, clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure timely and accurate project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and project coordination functions for Commercial & Industrial (C&I;) solar projects from concept to commissioning.
- Oversee the preparation and review of system designs, layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), string configurations, structural drawings, and other engineering documents.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable Indian standards, statutory regulations, client requirements, and company engineering practices.
- Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Project Execution, Liaisoning, QA/QC, and external consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review project feasibility, energy generation estimates, technical proposals, and engineering calculations for accuracy and optimization.
- Ensure timely release of approved drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and technical documentation to the execution and procurement teams.




- Monitor project progress and coordinate design revisions to address site conditions, technical challenges, and client requirements.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed within project timelines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site teams during installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Review and approve design changes, variation requests, and engineering deviations, ensuring proper documentation and control.
- Maintain coordination with clients, consultants, vendors, and regulatory authorities on technical and project-related matters.
- Prepare and review project MIS reports, engineering schedules, resource planning, and project status updates for management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Design and Project Coordination team, ensuring continuous improvement in engineering processes and project delivery.
- Drive standardization, innovation, value engineering, and cost optimization in design while ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Ensure timely completion of all engineering documentation, as-built drawings, and project close-out deliverables for successful project completion.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Solar PV system design and engineering for C&I; projects.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), system layouts, string configurations, and electrical drawings.
- Good understanding of solar PV system sizing, energy generation calculations, and electrical design principles.
- Knowledge of applicable Indian electrical standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.




- Robust understanding of project coordination and cross-functional team management.
- Ability to review technical proposals, BOQs/BOMs, engineering calculations, and project documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
- Knowledge of solar design and simulation software will be an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict project timelines.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in Solar PV Design, Engineering, or C&I; Solar EPC projects.
- Candidates with experience in C&I; rooftop solar project design and engineering will be preferred.
- Experience in handling project coordination and technical documentation will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel PAN India as per project requirements.
