About the role

Join a small, high-impact team building and enhancing a modern web application used by customers globally. You'll work directly with an Australia-based team to develop new features, improve existing functionality, and contribute to the evolution of the platform.

This is an prospect to work in a collaborative product engineering environment where you'll have ownership of features and the freedom to contribute ideas that shape the product.

What you'll do

- Own features from specification through to production.
- Build and maintain web applications using PHP (Laravel) and React.js.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and backend services.
- Build responsive, reusable, and maintainable frontend components using React.
- Design and optimise database schemas and queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
- Write clean, tested, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate closely with the engineering team.




- Work with senior engineers to deliver high-quality software and continuously improve development practices.

What we're looking for

- 3-6 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with PHP (Laravel preferred).
- Strong frontend experience with React.js.
- Good understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and modern frontend development.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience working with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS or similar) is preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Nice to have

- Experience with Next.js or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Redis, queues, or caching.
- Knowledge of microservices or event-driven architectures.
- Experience working on SaaS or product-based applications.
- Exposure to payment gateway integrations or third-party API integrations.
