Simplify Money is building Kuber.AI — an AI agent that does the financial grunt work Indians hate doing. Filing taxes. Buying digital gold. Running SIPs. The stuff people put off for months and then panic about in July.

Somebody has to write the code underneath that actually moves the money — and answer for it when it doesn't. A rounding error is someone's rupees. A retry that fires twice is a double debit on a real card. A settlement that doesn't reconcile is a call from a partner and a bad week for ops. There is no "we'll fix it in the next sprint" when the number on someone's screen is wrong.

We're a small team in Noida shipping quick to real users with real money on the line. Not a services shop. Not a demo factory. You'll own services end to end, and you'll be the one who picks up the phone when one of them misbehaves.

We're looking for a Backend Engineer who wants to build things that have to be right , not just working.

What you'll actually do

- Build and own Java services behind the product — digital gold, MF, Stocks, buy and sell, SIPs, tax filing flows, subscriptions, rewards and referrals and more
- Write money code that is exact and idempotent — correct under retries, partial failures, duplicate requests and network timeouts
- Integrate with partners: payment gateways, gold providers, AMCs, stock brokers, tax and KYC APIs. Handle their downtime, their rate limits and their surprises without losing a transaction.
- Reconcile. Daily and monthly settlement against partner statements, and chase every break until it has an explanation
- Support what you ship.



Take the escalation, trace it through the logs, find the actual cause, fix it, and write the few lines that stop it happening again
- Build the observability that makes all of the above possible — structured logs, traces, and alerts that fire before a user notices
- Use the best tools going . We pay for Claude, Copilot, Cursor and anything else that earns its keep. We expect you to drive them rather than be driven by them.

You'll work directly with our engineering lead and founders. Your code goes to production, usually within days.

What we are looking for

Must have

- Strong Java — you can write, read and debug it without a framework holding your hand
- Working SQL , and a real understanding of what a transaction, an index and isolation actually do
- Comfort with REST APIs, Git , and reading a codebase you've never seen before
- At least one project you've built and can defend end to end. GitHub link required. A college project counts if it's yours and you can explain every decision in it.
- Care about correctness. If you've ever used a float for money, you should know why that was wrong.

Nice to have

- Spring Boot , or any production framework you've actually shipped with
- Async and queues — Kafka, SQS,



RabbitMQ, or any job runner you've used in anger
- A NoSQL store you've modelled data in — DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra
- Docker, CI/CD, AWS or GCP
- Observability — you've actually debugged something using logs, metrics or traces rather than print statements
- Anything you've built that had to be right rather than merely work — payments, ledgers, billing, reconciliation
- Genuine curiosity about how money moves in India — UPI, NPCI rails, settlement cycles

Who this is for Anyone with 0 to 3 years . We run one process and hire for one job, and where you land depends on what you build for us, not the years on your CV.

If you can already own a service — design it, ship it, and debug it live — that's a full-time offer. If you're a recent graduate and the fundamentals are there but the production experience isn't yet, you start as a paid intern on the same team and the same code, and convert on performance. This is our primary hiring pipeline, not a side program.

Terms

- Location: On-site, Noida Sector 63 office
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10 AM – 7 PM
- Full-time: Both internship and full time available
- Internship: Minimum 2 months, extendable up to 6 months by mutual consent. Stipend to cover for basic expenses.
- Conversion: Strong interns get converted to full-time. This is our primary hiring pipeline, not a side program.
