– Gunnery & Weapon System Integration Specialist

Location: Hyderabad / Project & Naval Ship Visits as required Experience: 10–12 years preferred

Role Overview

Looking for an experienced Ships Gunnery / Weapon System Integration professional to support the development and integration of an EO/IR system for Ships.

This is a technically intensive system-integration role, requiring hands-on understanding of ship’s gun systems, fire-control processes, system interfaces, control software and target engagement workflows.

Qualifications

- Understand the architecture and functioning of ship’s Combat / Battle Management Systems, gunnery and fire-control systems.
- Naval Gunnery / Weapon Engineering personnel with substantial experience in shipborne gun and fire-control systems.
- Experience / Certified in the design, installation, commissioning, integration, testing or technical support of shipborne gun systems.
- Engineers/technical specialists from weapon-system OEMs or system integrators with experience supporting naval guns onboard ships.
- Personnel who have participated in installation, harbour acceptance trials, sea trials, weapon trials, commissioning and post-commissioning technical support of naval gun systems.
- Professionals experienced in integrating guns with Fire Control Systems (FCS), Combat Management Systems (CMS), EO/IR, radar and other shipborne sensors.

Key Responsibilities

- Define how RADAR, SIGINT EO/IR target data can be interfaced with the ship's weapon/gun system.




- Work closely with the software and system-integration teams to develop appropriate interfaces, data flows and integration logic.
- Advise the software team on Target detection, identification, track coordinates and management, sensor-to-weapon cueing, Weapon engagement workflow, Multiple-target handling and prioritisation
- Identify and document the technical requirements and interface requirements of Closed Loop Remote Weapons Stations.
- Support development of ICDs, interface protocols, data formats, message structures and integration requirements, in coordination with the technical team and equipment OEMs/user agencies.
- Support system integration, simulation, testing and harbour/ship trials.
- Analyse integration issues during testing and provide technical recommendations for resolution.
- Interface with ship staff and weapon-system personnel to understand existing system architecture and operational requirements.
- Translate operational gunnery requirements into clear technical and software requirements for the simulations & software development team.
- Support preparation of technical documentation, test procedures, trial plans and system demonstration requirements.

Education

- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Mechanical or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- Robust Gunnery / Weapon Systems / FCS / CMS integration experience is highly encouraged to apply.
