Company Description Superfan.ng (SPNG) is an edtech learning platform focused on African languages and cultural knowledge. The product is a gamified, quiz-first app that explores African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs.

Designed for Africans and the diaspora, SPNG aims to make cultural learning engaging, accessible, and community-driven. The team blends education, technology, and storytelling to help learners deepen their understanding of African heritage. SPNG is building a up-to-date, user-centered experience that celebrates and preserves diverse African cultures.

Role Description As a Senior User Experience Designer at Superfan.ng, you will lead end-to-end design for key product features across mobile and web experiences. You will conduct user research with learners and community members, define user journeys, and translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and polished user interfaces.

Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and content teams to refine requirements, run design workshops, iterate on solutions, and ensure a cohesive, accessible experience. You will own interaction patterns, contribute to design systems, and advocate for usability, inclusivity,



and cultural resonance in all product decisions. This is a full-time, remote role.

Qualifications

- Strong user-centered design skills, including Design Thinking and User Experience (UX) design for digital products.
- Experience planning and conducting User Research such as interviews, usability tests, and surveys, and translating findings into design decisions.
- Proficiency in Visual Design, including layout, typography, color, and creating pixel-perfect UI aligned with brand guidelines.
- Ability to create and iterate on low- to high-fidelity Prototyping using industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Track record of leading complex product initiatives, mentoring designers, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with mobile-first design, design systems, accessibility best practices, and data-informed design workflows.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain design rationale to technical and non-technical partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; experience in edtech or culturally focused products is a plus.
