Kubernetes Platform Engineer

1. JOB PURPOSE:

Seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer with deep Kubernetes administration expertise and experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. The role is focused on Kubernetes policy management, governance, security, and platform operations, ensuring scalable, compliant, and reliable Kubernetes environments through automation, standardization, and best practices.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Administer and support enterprise Kubernetes platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
2. Manage Kubernetes clusters to ensure availability, scalability, performance, security, and operational stability.
3. Implement and maintain Kubernetes governance and policy management frameworks using tools such as Kyverno, OPA Gatekeeper, Nirmata, or similar solutions.
4. Develop, deploy, and manage policy-as-code standards to enforce security, compliance, and operational best practices.
5. Configure and manage Kubernetes resources including namespaces, RBAC, networking, storage, ingress, and workload deployments.
6. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support platform automation, policy deployment, and cluster lifecycle management.
7. Enforce Kubernetes security controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements across multiple clusters.
8. Monitor Kubernetes platforms, troubleshoot cluster and application issues, and resolve platform incidents.
9. Support Kubernetes cluster upgrades, patching, capacity management, and platform optimization activities.
10. Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and resilience solutions for Kubernetes environments.
11. Collaborate with application, DevOps, cloud,



and security teams to support workload onboarding and adherence to platform standards.
12. Develop and maintain platform documentation, operational runbooks, and governance standards.
13. Continuously improve Kubernetes platform operations through automation, standardization, and policy-driven governance.

Stay current with Kubernetes technologies, cloud-native security practices, and emerging platform engineering trends. 3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- - - 5+ years of experience in Kubernetes administration, cloud engineering or DevOps roles.
- Solid hands-on experience operating cloud platforms, primarily AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes management including upgrading and patching
- Experience in creating and managing policies for cloud workloads
- scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash/Shell, and YAML.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI/CD, for infrastructure automation.
- Good understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, monitoring, and backup concepts.
- Experience supporting production cloud environments and resolving operational incidents.
- Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience design principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively with application, DevOps, and security teams.
- Experience in enterprise or regulated environments is an advantage.
- AWS or Azure certifications (Associate or Professional) are desirable.
