About the Company adesso India is looking for a highly hands-on Senior ServiceNow Developer to work on a complex enterprise ServiceNow environment with significant customizations. This is a developer-first role, approximately 90% of the work is focused on scripting, coding, debugging, automation, integrations, and technical problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a strong software developer, comfortable working with complex existing code, debugging issues, and building customer-specific solutions, rather than a primarily functional ServiceNow consultant.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, configure, customize, debug, and maintain complex ServiceNow solutions.
- Work across ITSM, particularly Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.
- Develop advanced Service Catalog solutions including Catalog Items, Record Producers, Variables, Variable Sets, scripting, workflows/flows, approvals, and fulfillment.
- Perform extensive JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting, including server-side and client-side development.
- Use PowerShell and other scripting technologies for automation and technical solutions where required.
- Develop and troubleshoot integrations using REST, SOAP, Web Services, connectors, and APIs.
- Analyze, debug, and enhance complex existing customizations and code, performing root-cause analysis and optimizing performance.
- Develop and configure Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, Data Policies, Scheduled Jobs, and Workflows/Flow Designer.
- Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases, and technical solutions.
- Develop and execute tests, conduct code reviews,



and maintain technical documentation.
- Support releases, deployments, upgrades, and production troubleshooting.
- Work with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance where required.

Qualifications

- ServiceNow Platform
- 8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow project experience, including strong enterprise experience in an international corporate environment.
- Advanced ITSM knowledge, especially Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.
- Advanced Service Catalog development, with strong backend and/or Service Portal development experience.
- Experience with heavily customized ServiceNow environments and a strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, scripting, security, and platform capabilities.

Required Skills

- Scripting & Development
- Expert-level JavaScript (mandatory), with strong ServiceNow server-side/client-side scripting and Glide APIs.
- Advanced debugging and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to read, modify, and optimize complex existing code.
- Strong software engineering and coding practices. PowerShell or other scripting languages are highly desirable.

Integrations

- Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting integrations via REST, SOAP, Web Services, connectors, APIs,



and external systems.

Agile & Leadership

- Experience as a Senior/Lead Developer in Scrum-based projects, including user stories, acceptance criteria, testing, code reviews, and estimation.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate with distributed international teams.

Good-to-Have Skills

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management (CIS-ITSM).
- Certified Implementation Specialist – Data Foundations (CIS-DF).

Experience & Education

- 10+ years of overall professional experience, with 8+ years in ServiceNow development/project work.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong consulting, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
