Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced and execution-focused Senior Project / Site Engineer to independently manage and supervise the on-site execution of PEB and structural steel projects.
The candidate will be responsible for project planning, structural steel erection, site coordination, manpower and subcontractor management, quality, safety, material management, measurements, progress monitoring, documentation, and client coordination.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of PEB structures, leadership at site, effective decision-making, and the ability to ensure projects are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and committed timelines.
Key Responsibilities / KRAs1. Project & Site ExecutionTake ownership of day-to-day project execution and ensure all site activities are carried out according to approved drawings, technical specifications, execution methodology, quality standards, and project schedules.
- PEB & Structural Steel ErectionPlan, supervise, and monitor the erection of columns, rafters, bracing systems, purlins, girts, roofing, wall cladding, accessories, and other primary and secondary structural components, ensuring correct alignment, levels, connections, and structural accuracy.
- Project Planning & SchedulingDevelop and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly execution plans. Track actual progress against project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
- Drawing & Technical ReviewReview GA drawings, erection drawings, Anchor Bolt (AB) drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details, and technical specifications before execution. Identify discrepancies and coordinate with design/detailing teams for timely resolution.
- Site Team LeadershipGuide and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, contractors, subcontractors, erection teams, and other site personnel to achieve productivity, quality, safety, and schedule targets.
- Manpower & Resource PlanningPlan manpower, cranes, lifting equipment, machinery, tools, consumables,
and other resources based on project requirements to ensure efficient utilization and uninterrupted site activities.
- Contractor & Subcontractor ManagementMonitor contractor performance, work quality, productivity, manpower deployment, safety compliance, and execution schedules. Verify completed quantities and coordinate corrective measures where required.
- Quality Control & InspectionEnsure all erection and installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements. Coordinate inspections and ensure timely closure of quality observations, punch points, and non-conformities.
- Safety & EHS ComplianceEnsure strict compliance with site safety requirements, including PPE, work-at-height procedures, lifting operations, crane safety, scaffolding, housekeeping, toolbox talks, and safe erection practices.
- Client & Consultant CoordinationAct as an effective site-level coordination point with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders for progress reviews, inspections, technical clarifications, site priorities, and execution-related matters.
- Cross-Functional CoordinationCoordinate with design & detailing, production, PPC, quality, dispatch, purchase, logistics, and project management teams to ensure timely availability of drawings, materials, resources, and technical information.
- Material Management & ReconciliationMonitor receipt, unloading, identification, storage, handling, issuance, and consumption of project materials. Ensure proper material reconciliation and promptly report shortages, damages, excess quantities, or discrepancies.
- Measurements & Billing SupportVerify site measurements and completed quantities. Maintain accurate measurement records to support contractor billing, client billing inputs, quantity reconciliation, and project cost control.
- Progress Monitoring & MISPrepare and review Daily Progress Reports (DPR), weekly/monthly progress reports, manpower reports, material status, erection progress, site photographs, equipment utilization, and other project MIS.
- Site Problem ResolutionProactively identify and resolve technical issues, drawing discrepancies, material shortages, erection constraints, resource bottlenecks, and coordination challenges before they impact project timelines.
- Project DocumentationMaintain systematic records of approved drawings and revisions, inspection reports, site instructions, material records, measurements, correspondence, DPRs, approvals, and other project documentation.
- Productivity & Cost ControlMonitor site productivity and minimize material wastage, equipment idle time, manpower losses, rework, avoidable delays, and unnecessary project costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Testing, Punch Points & HandoverCoordinate inspections, rectification activities, punch-point closure, finishing work, documentation, and final handover requirements to achieve smooth and timely project completion.
- Team DevelopmentGuide junior engineers and supervisors on PEB erection methodology, drawing interpretation, quality requirements, safety practices, documentation,
and site coordination.
- Continuous ImprovementRecommend improvements in erection methodology, project planning, site productivity, resource utilization, quality, safety, documentation, and execution processes based on practical project experience.

Candidate Requirements
- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong professional experience in PEB, structural steel, steel erection, or industrial construction projects
- Hands-on experience independently managing PEB/structural steel site execution
- Sound knowledge of structural steel components, connections, erection sequences, alignment, and site practices
- Strong ability to interpret engineering and erection drawings
- Experience managing site engineers, supervisors, contractors, subcontractors, and erection teams
- Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, engineering teams, production teams, and other stakeholders
- Practical knowledge of site quality and safety requirements
- Experience in progress monitoring, measurements, material reconciliation, DPRs, and project documentation
- Experience with a PEB manufacturer, structural steel fabrication company, EPC organization, or industrial construction company will be strongly preferred
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites across India based on project requirements
