You are the first engineer on a current platform. You build the backend foundation and a device facing API first, then the multi tenant web dashboard that sits on top of it.

The interface is already specified. An OpenAPI contract defines every endpoint, schema, status code and error string, and the database schema ships as a script you can run on day one. You are implementing a specified interface, not designing one.

What you will build

- Cloud infrastructure, PostgreSQL, object storage and a deployment pipeline
- A device API implemented to a frozen OpenAPI contract
- A long poll endpoint holding many connections open at fleet scale
- Signed token issuance with key rotation
- A media processing pipeline producing standard renditions on ingest
- A nine page multi tenant dashboard on a purchased admin template, responsive to 360 pixels

Must have
- Five years or more building and running production systems end to end
- Node and TypeScript, on the server as well as the browser
- PostgreSQL, including migrations, indexing and behaviour under load
- Cloud infrastructure: networking, access control, object storage, deployment pipelines




- React with genuine responsive skill: complex tables, drag and drop and forms that work at 360 pixels
- Long lived connections at scale, whether long polling, server sent events or sockets
- Working to an OpenAPI contract as a fixed specification

Good to have
- Diagnosing asynchronous and distributed behaviour using structured logs, correlation identifiers and traces
- Media processing pipelines, and an eye on what bandwidth costs
- Multi tenant systems where isolation was a real requirement, not a filter in a query
- Internationalisation in React, particularly non Latin scripts
