Provide end-to-end technical, people, resource and delivery leadership from concept through design, validation, release and launch; ensure solutions meet programme requirements for quality, cost, weight, timing, safety, compliance and manufacturability; and build reusable capability, standards and talent across the section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate CoC and CMB business priorities into the section strategy, technology roadmap, annual objectives, capacity plan and execution priorities.
- Own delivery of Interior Trims, Exterior Trims, Seating Systems and Mirrors engineering from requirements and concept selection through design, validation, release, industrialisation support and launch.
- Govern technical reviews, requirements traceability, design maturity, configuration and engineering change control; approve section deliverables within delegated authority.
- Plan and deploy people, engineering budget, tools, prototypes and test resources across programmes; resolve constraints and escalate cross-programme trade-offs to the CoC Head.
- Lead the section team and its functional leaders through goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, succession planning, recruitment and targeted capability development.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution with vehicle programmes, manufacturing, quality, purchase, finance, service and other engineering functions, using clear ownership and closure dates.
- Identify and mitigate technical, programme, supplier and launch risks; maintain escalation discipline for critical quality, safety, compliance, cost and timing concerns.
- Deliver cost, weight, quality and warranty targets through value engineering, design optimisation, standardisation, localisation and robust root-cause / corrective-action practices.
- Provide technical direction to suppliers and engineering partners,
including design reviews, development readiness, validation evidence, change management and issue closure.
- Establish common methods, design guidelines, lessons learned, knowledge reuse and continuous-improvement practices; report section performance and corrective actions to governance forums.
