About the role
Keyword research, search intent mapping and topical cluster planning On-page optimisation: titles, meta, headings, internal linking, content depth and structure Technical SEO: crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, redirects, canonicals, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, JS rendering issues Full site audits and a prioritised, effort-vs-impact fix list — plus following through with dev/content teams until fixes ship Off-page: digital PR, guest placements, unlinked brand mentions, HARO-style citations, backlink profile health and disavow decisions Local SEO where applicable: Google Business Profile, citations, location pages, review velocity
AEO, GEO and AI search visibility
Optimising content to win featured snippets, People Also Ask, and Google AI Overviews Structuring content for LLM retrieval: clear Q&A; blocks, definitions, comparison tables, extractable claims, source-worthy data Entity SEO — building and strengthening brand entity signals, consistency across the web, Knowledge Panel and Wikidata-level presence Schema / structured data implementation: Organization, Product, FAQ, Article, HowTo, Review, Breadcrumb Tracking and improving brand visibility and citation share inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Mode Staying current on emerging standards and practices (llms.txt, AI crawler access policy, content licensing implications) and recommending our position on them
Analytics and reporting
Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Looker Studio Monthly performance reporting: traffic, rankings, impressions, CTR, conversions, AI citation visibility — with a clear "what changed and what we're doing about it" narrative, not just charts Forecasting and opportunity sizing for new content or technical bets
Must-have skills
Minimum 2 years of hands-on SEO experience with demonstrable results (traffic, rankings, leads,
revenue — be ready to show numbers) Strong grasp of how search engines crawl, render, index and rank — not just checklist SEO Working knowledge of AEO and GEO, and a genuine point of view on how AI search is changing organic strategy Comfortable with schema markup and reading/editing basic HTML; able to spot a rendering or indexation problem Proficiency with at least two of: Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz, SE Ranking, Similarweb Screaming Frog (or Sitebulb) for technical crawls GA4 and GSC to a level where you can segment, diagnose and defend a number Ability to work independently in a remote setup and communicate progress without being chased Clear written English — a large part of this job is explaining SEO decisions to non-SEO people
Good to have
Experience with AI visibility / LLM tracking tools (Profound, Peec AI, Otterly, Semrush AI Toolkit, Ahrefs Brand Radar or similar) WordPress, Webflow or Shopify hands-on experience, including SEO plugins (Rank Math, Yoast) Basic familiarity with Python, Google Sheets scripting, or n8n/Zapier for automating repetitive SEO work Experience running SEO for B2B SaaS or e-commerce Exposure to CRO and landing page testing Understanding of how organic works alongside paid search
Metrics you'll be measured on: organic sessions and qualified traffic, keyword visibility in target clusters, AI citation/mention share, technical health score, organic conversions.
