Job Summary

Mastercam seeks a Quality Control Specialist II who supports the Mastercam Copilot team and will serve as the dedicated Quality Assurance representative embedded within an Agile team developing AI-powered and cloud-connected experiences for manufacturing professionals. As a Quality Control Specialist II will combine strong software testing and quality engineering practices with an exploratory, proactive mindset, helping identify risks, validate customer workflows, and contribute to product discussions as requirements and capabilities evolve. Success in this role requires curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to continuously learn emerging technologies while collaborating across engineering, product, and user experience teams to deliver reliable, secure, and valuable customer experiences.

Additional context: This role will focus on integrating an acquired company to Mastercam per Sandvik's program and processes from a compliance and financial controls perspective. As the integration work will go down over time, the role is expected to take broader BA wide responsibilities under the common Sandvik compliance program and locally for the Hub and our other local business.

Responsibilities

Software Quality, AI & Continuous Improvement

- Serve as the embedded Quality Assurance representative for the Mastercam Copilot team, advocating for customer value and product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Design and execute exploratory, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for AI-powered, cloud-connected, and desktop-integrated workflows.
- Develop test strategies and realistic customer scenarios by independently exploring manufacturing use cases, emerging technologies, evolving requirements, and real-world usage patterns.




- Evaluate AI-powered experiences for accuracy, consistency, usability, reliability, and alignment with customer expectations while helping define quality criteria for new capabilities.
- Assess security, privacy, data-handling, and cloud integration risks as part of delivering reliable and responsible customer experiences.
- Champion continuous improvement by embracing new technologies, leveraging AI-assisted tools, proposing innovative testing approaches, and helping evolve team practices in a rapidly changing environment.

Agile Team Collaboration

- Collaborate with engineering, product, and UX to clarify requirements, challenge assumptions constructively, identify risks, and help shape effective solutions.
- Contribute to Agile planning and product discussions by bringing a proactive, self-directed perspective to evolving requirements, manufacturing workflows, and customer scenarios.
- Investigate unexpected behavior, uncover quality gaps, and communicate actionable insights that support informed product and engineering decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- 4-5+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, application engineering, manufacturing software, or a related technical field.




- Experience designing and executing test scenarios for software applications, integrated systems, web applications, or cloud-connected solutions.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently identify risks and drive issues to resolution.
- Proven ability to work proactively, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute effectively in a collaborative Agile environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Experience with manufacturing software, manufacturing processes, or engineering workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity, analysis, problem solving, and decision making.
- Ability to learn recent technologies, tools, and business domains quickly and independently.

Key Competencies

- Experience with Mastercam.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, CNC machining, digital manufacturing, or related manufacturing technologies.
- Experience testing AI-powered products, Copilot-style experiences, conversational interfaces, or other emerging technologies.
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, cloud services, or desktop-to-cloud integrations.
- Experience with automated testing, scripting, CI/CD practices, or other modern quality engineering approaches.
- Familiarity with security, privacy, data-retention, and responsible data-handling considerations for web-based products.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent software quality training.
