About the Role

We are looking for a QA Lead to own and drive quality across AiSensy's backend, APIs, automation, and performance layers.

You will be responsible for designing QA strategy, building robust automation frameworks, validating complex business logic and data flows, testing microservices and distributed systems, and ensuring reliable releases at scale.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Backend Testing, API Testing & Automation, Performance Testing, and modern automation frameworks, along with the ability to identify quality risks and drive engineering teams toward higher quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

QA Strategy & Leadership

- Own QA strategy, test planning, execution, and release quality across the product.
- Define testing standards, processes, automation strategy, and quality metrics.
- Identify test gaps, quality risks, and areas requiring better test coverage.
- Drive release readiness and provide QA sign-off based on risk and coverage.
- Mentor QA engineers and promote strong testing practices across engineering teams.

Backend & API Testing
- Perform deep backend testing covering business logic, workflows, integrations, and data validation.
- Design and execute comprehensive API testing and automation for REST-based services.
- Validate API contracts, authentication, authorization, error handling, edge cases, and response schemas.
- Work with tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, and SoapUI.
- Validate end-to-end data flow across multiple backend services.

Automation Engineering
- Build, enhance,



and maintain scalable automated test suites.
- Develop automation using JavaScript, Java, or Python.
- Work with frameworks/tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, and Mocha.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve automation reliability, execution speed, coverage, and maintainability.

Performance & Scalability Testing
- Design and execute load, stress, scalability, and resiliency tests.
- Identify performance bottlenecks across APIs, backend services, databases, and distributed systems.
- Analyze response times, throughput, resource utilization, and failure patterns.
- Work with tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or equivalent.

Distributed Systems & Microservices
- Test applications built on microservices and multi-tier cloud architectures.
- Validate inter-service communication, asynchronous workflows, retries, failures, and data consistency.
- Test complex integrations and end-to-end business workflows across multiple services.
- Identify risks associated with distributed architectures and high-volume traffic.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and other stakeholders throughout Agile sprints.
- Participate in requirements discussions, design reviews, sprint planning, and release planning.
- Ensure testability and quality considerations are incorporated early in the development lifecycle.
- Drive root-cause analysis and prevent recurring production issues.

Quality Metrics & Reporting
- Own and report QA metrics including:
- Test coverage
- Automation coverage
- Defect leakage
- Regression pass rate
- Release readiness
- Test execution trends
- Provide clear quality and risk assessments to engineering and leadership teams.

Must-Have Skills

- 8+ years of professional experience in QA/Software Testing.




- Strong hands-on experience in Backend Testing.
- Strong experience in API Testing & Automation.
- Hands-on experience with Rest Assured and Postman.
- Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
- Strong programming/scripting ability in Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or Mocha.
- Experience testing web applications and cloud-based SaaS products.
- Hands-on understanding of performance, load, stress, and scalability testing.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, defect lifecycle, and QA processes.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience owning QA delivery, release quality, or QA strategy.

Good-to-Have Skills

- Experience with JMeter, k6, or Gatling.
- Experience testing asynchronous/event-driven architectures, queues, or messaging systems.
- Experience with Node.js / JavaScript ES6.
- Experience with databases and backend data validation.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure.
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience in a SaaS, startup, CPaaS, MarTech, or high-scale technology environment.
- Experience mentoring or leading QA engineers.
