We're seeking a junior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our international startup, be a driving part our team to design, develop and support next-gen global InsureTech Supply-Chain green-field platform. You'll be a pivotal part of a multi-disciplined team in Gurgaon, be a part of the engineering team and work with stakeholders and contribute to decision-making. We're looking for someone passionate about technology, with excellent communication skills, and experience in being part of a team and dealing with stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role located in Gurgaon therefore applicants are required to be located in Gurgaon / commutable distance to Gurgaon.

Responsibilities:

a) Perform manual testing of web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and backend services.

b) Create and execute test cases, test scenarios, regression tests, smoke tests, sanity tests, and exploratory tests.

c) Understand product requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and acceptance criteria.

d) Test end-to-end workflows across the Sphere platform, including data flows, business rules, alerts, reports, dashboards, and integrations.

e) Perform API testing and validate request/response payloads, authentication, authorization, error handling, and data integrity.

f) Perform cross-browser and mobile application testing across relevant devices and operating systems.

g) Identify, reproduce, document, and track bugs with clear steps, evidence, severity, and business impact.

h) Work closely with developers and product teams to investigate defects, validate fixes, and ensure production readiness.

i) Perform regression and release testing for new features, enhancements, and production releases.

Continuously improve QA processes, test coverage, documentation, and overall product quality.

k) Evaluate and adopt modern QA, open-source, automation, and AI-assisted testing tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 1–3 years of skilled experience in QA, Software Testing, Quality Engineering, or a related role.
- Strong hands-on experience with manual testing of web applications.
- Programming/development experience is required, with proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
- Experience writing clear and effective test cases, test scenarios, and defect reports.
- Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.
- Good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, APIs, authentication, authorization, and client-server architecture.
- Experience with SQL/database validation and data verification.
- Experience with browser developer tools and basic troubleshooting of frontend/backend issues.
- Experience testing mobile applications on Android/iOS is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of automation testing frameworks/tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, PyTest, or similar is a plus.
- Experience with Git and software development workflows.
- Basic understanding of application security and common OWASP/web security vulnerabilities is desirable.
- Strong open-source mindset and willingness to learn and adopt modern QA tools.
- Experience in FinTech, banking, payments, insurance, cybersecurity, risk management, or other regulated industries is a strong advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
