Role Description This is a full-time, in office role based in Malad for a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Engineer. The role involves developing and implementing QA/QC procedures for fire fighting and fire detection systems, including reviewing design documents, specifications, and material approvals to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. The engineer will inspect and test incoming materials, monitor installation activities, and conduct routine site audits to verify workmanship, safety practices, and adherence to quality plans.
Daily responsibilities include preparing inspection reports, maintaining quality records, coordinating with project managers, site engineers,
and procurement teams to resolve non-conformities, and supporting commissioning and handover with proper documentation. The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, assisting in training site personnel on quality standards, and supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions in case of defects or failures.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of QA/QC principles and practices, including development of quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and non-conformance management.
- Working knowledge of fire protection and detection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, alarms, suppression systems) and relevant national/international standards and codes.
- Experience in construction or engineering project environments, preferably in fire protection, MEP, or related building services.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications for fire safety systems.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills, including preparation of inspection reports, checklists, test records, and quality-related correspondence.
- Proficiency in using basic engineering and office software (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets, document management tools); exposure to QA/QC software or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with site teams, consultants, clients, and vendors, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently on-site while managing multiple inspections and priorities.
