About Quantum Test and Automation Pvt Ltd
We design and manufacture Functional Circuit Test (FCT) machines for automotive, SMT, and electronics manufacturers, along with IoT and test-automation solutions. Our systems validate electronic assemblies at end-of-line, communicating with a range of lab and production instruments to run automated test sequences.
About the internship
We're need a modern, maintainable Python stack for our machines. As a Python Developer intern, you'll help build the software that drives our test machines and talks to real instruments on the bench.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Writing Python drivers/wrappers to communicate with instruments — digital multimeters (DMM), programmable power supplies, electronic loads, area/proximity sensors, and digital I/O — over USB, serial (RS-232/485), GPIB, and Ethernet using PyVISA, pySerial, and SCPI commands.
2. Building a test-sequence engine (a "test executive") that runs configurable functional test steps, applies pass/fail limits, and handles branching, retries, and error states.
3. Developing operator-facing GUIs (PyQt/PySide, or a web front end) for running tests, showing live measurements, and displaying results.
4. Implementing result logging, report generation, and data export (CSV/database) for traceability.
5.
Working alongside our engineering and design teams to replicate and improve on existing LabVIEW-based fixtures.
Who can apply
Candidates who:
- Are comfortable with Python and object-oriented programming
- Have some exposure to hardware/instrument communication, serial protocols, or basic electronics (a strong plus, not mandatory)
- Understand or are eager to learn SCPI / VISA-based instrument control
- Have used PyQt/PySide, Tkinter, or a web framework for building UIs (a plus)
- Are available for a full-time, in-office internship at [Gurugram / your location]
- Can bring a problem-solving, hands-on-with-hardware attitude
Perks: Certificate, letter of recommendation, hands-on work with real test hardware, potential PPO (pre-placement offer) Additional preferred skills (nice to have): FastAPI, NumPy/Pandas, experience with DAQ hardware, knowledge of test fixtures or EOL testing
What you get:
Real project work with actual test machines (not dummy training tasks), mentorship from our engineering team, a certificate and letter of recommendation, and a solid shot at a full-time offer.
? Location: Gurugram (in-office)
