Role Description

This is a remote internship role for a Python Developer. The intern will engage in developing and maintaining backend systems, implementing software solutions, and utilizing object-oriented programming principles to meet project requirements. Additional responsibilities include database management and ensuring optimized system performance through effective programming practices.

Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering
- Strong foundation in Back-End Web Development and Software Development
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Programming best practices
- Proficiency in working with Databases and understanding of database management
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail




- Ability to collaborate effectively in a virtual team workplace
- Familiarity with Python frameworks such as Django or Flask is a bonus
- Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

What you'll do

- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python and Flask
- Design and query relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) — schema, joins, indexing, ORM
- Integrate backend APIs with the frontend and debug issues across the stack
- Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews

What we're looking for

- 1–1.5 years of professional Python backend development experience
- Strong with Flask (routing, blueprints, request handling, error handling)
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL and SQLAlchemy (or similar ORM)
- Comfortable wiring APIs to a frontend — understands HTTP, JSON, CORS, auth tokens
- Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript; familiarity with React or similar is a plus
- Git and basic debugging skills
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently in a remote setup

Good to have

- Docker, CI/CD exposure
- Cloud experience (Azure / AWS)
- Unit testing with pytest
- Kubernetes exposure
