:
As a Psychometrician at Dozti, you will be responsible for the research, design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of psychological and behavioral assessments.
You will work closely with researchers, subject matter experts, product teams, data professionals, and leadership to transform psychological constructs into scientifically grounded measurement systems. This may include personality assessments, behavioral assessments, aptitude measures, workplace assessments, and other structured instruments.
The role requires advanced knowledge of psychometric theory, statistical methodology, test construction, and validation. You will be expected to determine whether an assessment actually measures the construct it claims to measure, evaluate the quality of individual questions, establish scoring methodologies, and continuously improve assessment reliability and validity using empirical data.
This is not a general psychology or survey-writing role. It is a quantitative measurement position requiring strong statistical ability, scientific rigor, and expertise in the development of defensible psychometric instruments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop psychometric assessments from initial construct definition through validation and implementation.
- Translate psychological and behavioral constructs into measurable dimensions, scales, and assessment items.
- Develop assessment blueprints, item specifications, scoring methodologies, and interpretation frameworks.
- Conduct item analysis and evaluate item difficulty, discrimination, reliability, and overall measurement quality.
- Apply Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory where appropriate.
- Conduct exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to evaluate assessment structure.
- Evaluate internal consistency, test-retest reliability, inter-rater reliability, and other appropriate reliability measures.
- Establish and evaluate construct, criterion, convergent, discriminant, and predictive validity.
- Develop norms, percentiles, standardized scores, and appropriate comparison groups.
- Identify poorly performing, redundant, misleading, or biased assessment items and recommend revisions.
- Conduct differential item functioning and fairness analyses across relevant populations.
- Design pilot studies and validation studies for new assessments.
- Analyze assessment data and translate statistical findings into actionable recommendations.
- Develop technical documentation explaining assessment methodology, scoring, reliability, validity, and limitations.
- Collaborate with software and product teams to ensure scoring algorithms are implemented accurately.
- Continuously evaluate assessment performance as additional response data becomes available.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, Educational Measurement, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- 3 or more years of professional experience in psychometrics, assessment development, psychological measurement, or quantitative research.
- Advanced understanding of Classical Test Theory and modern psychometric methods.
- Strong knowledge of reliability, validity, factor analysis, item analysis, and test construction.
- Experience with Item Response Theory and psychometric modeling.
- Advanced statistical analysis skills using R, Python, SPSS, SAS, Mplus, or equivalent analytical software.
- Ability to design scientifically defensible assessment and validation methodologies.
- Strong understanding of sampling, research design, statistical inference, and measurement error.
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to methodological detail, documentation, and scientific integrity.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- PhD in Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Educational Measurement, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience developing personality, behavioral, workplace, or aptitude assessments.
- Experience developing proprietary commercial assessment instruments.
- Familiarity with computerized adaptive testing and adaptive assessment methodologies.
- Experience with large-scale assessment datasets and automated scoring systems.
- Knowledge of assessment fairness, bias detection, and cross-cultural measurement.
- Familiarity with machine learning applications in psychological measurement.
- Experience collaborating with software engineers to integrate psychometric models into digital products.
What We Offer:
- Opportunity to develop original assessments and proprietary measurement systems.
- Direct involvement in assessment methodology from initial research through product implementation.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary research, technology, and product teams.
- Work from home environment with autonomy and accountability.
- Competitive compensation aligned with quantitative expertise and experience.
- Opportunity to establish rigorous psychometric standards for developing products and intellectual property.
- Long-term growth opportunities across an expanding portfolio of technology and intellectual property ventures.
How to Apply:
Please send
- Resume or CV
- Academic background and relevant publications, if applicable
- Examples of assessments, validation studies, or psychometric research you have contributed to, where confidentiality permits
- A brief note describing your experience with test development, psychometric validation, and statistical modeling
