JOB DESCRIPTIONProject Manager – Bus Body Manufacturing

Position: Project Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to monitor and coordinate all ongoing bus-body manufacturing projects at OJES Automobiles.

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that every project is progressing according to the planned schedule, identify delays or problems at an early stage, coordinate with the concerned departments to resolve issues, and maintain accurate and up-to-date project information in the company's software system.

The ideal candidate should have strong project monitoring, coordination, communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills, along with a good understanding of manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Monitoring

- Monitor the progress of all ongoing bus-body manufacturing projects on a daily basis.
- Track each project from the initial stage through production, finishing, inspection, and final delivery.
- Compare actual progress against the planned production schedule and delivery commitments.
- Ensure that projects remain on schedule and identify potential delays in advance.
- Follow up with responsible departments and personnel regarding pending activities.

2. Identify Delays & Project Issues

- Identify reasons for delays in individual projects.
- Monitor issues related to:
- Material shortages
- Material procurement delays
- Production delays
- Design/drawing issues
- Labour/manpower shortages
- Quality issues
- Electrical/plumbing/interior work delays
- Chassis-related issues
- Customer requirements or changes
- Inspection and approval delays
- Any other factors affecting project completion
- Escalate critical issues to management without delay.
- Follow up until the issue is properly resolved.

3. Material & Resource Monitoring

- Monitor whether required materials are available for each project at the appropriate stage.
- Identify material shortages before they affect production.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Production, Engineering, and other concerned departments.
- Highlight materials or components that may cause future production delays.

Coordination Between Departments

- Act as a central coordination point between:
- Production
- Engineering / Design
- Purchase
- Stores
- Quality Control
- Electrical
- Interior
- Painting
- Fabrication
- Service / Final Inspection
- Management
- Ensure that information regarding project requirements and deadlines reaches the concerned departments on time.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with department heads and supervisors.

5. Company Software / ERP Updates

- Maintain complete and accurate project information in the company's software/ERP system.
- Update the status of every project regularly.
- Ensure that completed activities, pending activities, delays, material shortages, and other important information are properly recorded.
- Ensure that the software reflects the actual real-time status of each project.
- Generate project status reports from the system whenever required by management.

6. Daily Project Status Reporting Prepare and maintain regular project status reports showing:

- Project name / vehicle details
- Current production stage
- Planned completion date
- Actual progress
- Pending activities
- Material shortages
- Current problems/issues
- Responsible department/person
- Expected resolution date
- Expected delivery date
- Overall project status

7. Early Warning & Escalation

- Proactively identify projects that are at risk of missing their delivery deadlines.
- Provide early warnings to management rather than waiting until a project is already delayed.
- Immediately escalate critical issues that require management intervention.
- Maintain a clear list of priority and critical projects.

Performance Expectations The Project Manager will be expected to ensure that:
- Every ongoing project is continuously monitored.
- No major delay goes unnoticed.
- Material shortages are identified before they stop production.




- Project issues are communicated to the responsible department immediately.
- Project information in the company software is accurate and up to date.
- Management has a clear picture of the status of every project at any time.
- Delays are followed up until the root cause is identified and corrective action is taken.
- Projects are completed within the planned schedule as far as reasonably possible.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in project management, production planning, manufacturing, automobile, bus-body building, or similar industries is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and workflow.
- Good computer skills and experience with ERP/software systems.
- Ability to work with project tracking and reporting systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience Experience in bus-body manufacturing, automobile body building, commercial vehicle manufacturing, fabrication, or customized vehicle manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Reporting Reports To: Management / Managing Director

Role Objective:

To ensure that every bus-body project at OJES Automobiles is continuously monitored, problems are identified early, corrective action is followed up, and accurate project status is maintained in the company's software system until successful completion and delivery.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
