We are currently looking to add a Special Educator to our team who will be part of our skills, vocational & 1:1 remedial programs. Curriculum changes, student training sessions, first interactions, assessments, student reports, external training & workshops will be a few of the things which are part of this program
Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Special Educator to work with children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), & other developmental delays.
The Special Educator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring individualized educational and developmental programs tailored to the unique needs of each individual
Responsibilities
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the strengths, challenges, and learning styles of individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Interpret assessment results to develop accurate profiles and inform intervention strategies
Individualized Program Development:
- Develop, implement,
and regularly review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), with specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals.
- Design and adapt curriculum, teaching methods, and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities across various age groups (children, adolescents, and adults)
Direct Instruction and Intervention:
- Provide group and one-on-one interventions using evidence-based strategies for individuals with ASD, ID, SLD, ADHD, and other developmental disabilities.
- Implement multi-sensory and differentiated teaching techniques to enhance academic, social, communication, adaptive, and vocational skills.
- Integrate assistive technology and adaptive tools to support learning and engagement where appropriate.
- Address challenging behaviors through positive behavior intervention strategies and support the development of self-regulation skills.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic development and integrated services.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/caregivers, providing guidance, resources, and strategies for supporting learning and development at home and within the community.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and parent/educator meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and intervention strategies
Monitoring and Documentation
- Systematically monitor & track individual progress towards goals, adjusting teaching strategies & IEPs.
- Maintain accurate & up-to-date records, reports, & documentation of assessments, progress, & interventions
Ideal Candidate
- Diploma/ Bachelors/ Masters degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation Science, Psychology, or a related field
- RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) registration is preferable
- 1-2 years of teaching experience as a special educator
- Strong knowledge of various assessment tools, intervention strategies, and curriculum adaptation techniques for neurodiverse learners.
- A genuine urge & enthusiasm to empower individuals & help them be the best version of themselves
- Understand functioning of non-profit and ability to contribute to disability sector at large

- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Solid organizational and time management abilities
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Resourceful and adaptable in developing creative and individualized solutions
