1. Job Purpose To supervise and control day-to-day production activities in the PICC (Paper Insulated Copper Conductor) and TLJ Section, ensuring achievement of production targets with required quality, productivity, safety and timely completion of customer orders while maintaining proper manpower, machine and material utilization.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Management

- - Supervise day-to-day production activities of PICC & TLJ lines as per production plan.
- Ensure achievement of daily, monthly and shift-wise production targets.
- Allocate manpower and work responsibilities to operators and helpers.
- Monitor production progress against the planned schedule and take corrective action for deviations.
- Ensure proper utilization of machines, equipment, manpower and raw materials.
- Minimize machine idle time, production losses, rejection and material wastage.
- Coordinate with Production In-charge for resolving operational issues.

B. Process & Quality Control

- - Ensure production is carried out as per approved process parameters, work instructions and quality standards.
- Monitor critical process parameters during manufacturing.
- Ensure proper paper insulation, conductor dimensions, winding, laying, tension and other applicable process requirements.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for inspection, testing and resolution of quality issues.
- Immediately report and control any abnormality, rejection or customer-related quality concern.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of production lots and materials.

C. Machine & Equipment

- - Ensure machines are operated safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machine performance and identify abnormalities at an early stage.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Department for breakdowns and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around machines and production areas.




- Ensure basic machine checks are carried out before and during the shift.

D. Manpower Management

- - Ensure adequate manpower availability for every shift.
- Allocate duties according to employee skill and production requirements.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, punctuality and productivity of operators and helpers.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and training to new and existing employees.
- Maintain proper discipline and ensure compliance with company rules and procedures.

E. Production Planning & Coordination

- - Coordinate with PPC, Production Planning, Quality, Stores, Maintenance and Dispatch for smooth production flow.
- Ensure availability of required raw materials, consumables, tools and packing materials.
- Follow production priorities and customer delivery requirements.
- Communicate production status, delays and bottlenecks to the concerned superior.

F. Safety & Compliance

- - Ensure strict compliance with all safety rules, PPE requirements and standard operating procedures.
- Prevent unsafe acts and unsafe conditions in the production area.
- Report accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure employees are trained regarding safe operation of machines and handling of materials.
- Maintain 5S, housekeeping and workplace discipline in the section.

G. Documentation & Reporting

- - Maintain accurate shift-wise production records.
- Prepare production reports covering output, rejection, downtime, wastage and productivity.
- Record machine breakdowns, process deviations and other production-related issues.
- Ensure proper handover of production status between shifts.
- Provide data and reports required by Production Management.

4. Required Skills & Competencies

- - Good knowledge of manufacturing processes related to PICC and TLJ.
- Basic understanding of copper/aluminium conductor manufacturing and paper insulation processes.
- Ability to read and understand production and process instructions.
- Good manpower handling and supervisory skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and under production pressure.
- Basic knowledge of production documentation and computer applications.
- Solid focus on quality, productivity, safety and discipline.

5. Educational Qualification & Experience Qualification: Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or relevant technical discipline preferred.

Experience: Approximately 3–7 years of relevant experience in wire/cable, conductor, electrical manufacturing or similar process industries, with supervisory experience preferred.

6. Authority & Accountability The Production Supervisor is accountable for the safe, efficient and timely execution of PICC & TLJ production activities during the assigned shift, including manpower deployment, production achievement, process compliance, quality, productivity, housekeeping and reporting.

7. Shift Responsibilities The position requires willingness to work in rotational shifts, including managing shift handover, production continuity, manpower deployment, machine-related issues and coordination with supporting departments.
