NPD / PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – AUTOMOTIVE

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Automobile

Key Responsibilities

Develop new automotive parts from customer drawing to production.

Valuable understanding of Engineering Drawing (ED), GD&T;, tolerances & specifications.

Conduct part feasibility and manufacturability studies.

Coordinate tool, die, fixture & gauge development.

Manage part development, sample preparation, trials & validation.

Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Purchase and suppliers.

Prepare/review Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan & Work Instructions.

Handle APQP & PPAP activities.

Identify development issues and implement corrective actions.





Ensure timely completion of new product development projects.

Support cost reduction, defect prevention and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of ED / Engineering

Drawing – Mandatory

Hands-on experience in automotive parts development

Knowledge of sheet-metal components & manufacturing processes

Knowledge of tool & die / fixture development

Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA & Control Plan

AutoCAD / CATIA / SolidWorks knowledge preferred.

Ideal Candidate

Candidate should be capable of handling Drawing → Feasibility → Tooling → Part Development → Trial → Validation → PPAP → Production.
