Procurement Head Roles & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

- Develop and execute procurement strategy for both domestic and international sourcing, especially China.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard reliable vendors based on cost, quality, capacity and delivery timelines.
- Develop alternate sources to reduce vendor dependency and supply-chain risks.
- Manage end-to-end procurement for automotive aftermarket/accessories and related products.

2. China Vendor Management

- Identify and develop new vendors/manufacturers across China.
- Manage existing China vendor relationships and ensure timely production and deliveries.
- Negotiate product pricing, MOQ, payment terms, tooling costs, lead time and commercial terms.
- Coordinate with China vendors for OEM/ODM, private-label, SKD/CKD and customized product requirements.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and work on cost and quality improvement.

3. Domestic Vendor Management





- Develop and maintain a robust network of Indian suppliers/manufacturers.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, credit period, MOQ and delivery schedules.
- Ensure domestic vendors meet defined quality, capacity and service-level requirements.
- Identify opportunities for local sourcing/substitution wherever commercially viable.

4. Cost Optimization

- Drive continuous cost reduction through price negotiation, alternate sourcing, bulk procurement and localization.
- Conduct should-cost and market-price analysis before finalizing vendors.
- Benchmark domestic vs. international sourcing costs to determine the most viable sourcing option.
- Track procurement savings and ensure achievement of annual cost-saving targets.
