Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Workday Extend & Orchestration Consultant to join our HRIT team. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on individual contribution, driving the architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Workday Extend applications and Workday Orchestrations across HR, Finance, and enterprise business functions.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical lead for Workday platform innovation initiatives, partnering with business stakeholders, HRIT leaders, architects, and integration teams to deliver scalable solutions that improve user experience, automate complex processes, and maximize the value of the Workday platform.

This role requires deep expertise in Workday Extend, Workday Orchestrate, Workday Integrations, and Workday platform capabilities, along with strong leadership, stakeholder management, and solution architecture skills.

This role is responsible for:

Leading the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise-grade Workday Extend applications.

Driving business process automation through Workday Orchestrations.

Establishing best practices for Workday development, governance, and support.

Acting as the technical subject matter expert for Extend and Orchestrate capabilities.

Promoting adoption of current Workday capabilities and continuous platform innovation.

Ensuring stability, scalability, and performance of custom Workday solutions.

Experience Level

7+ years of Workday experience.





3+ years of hands-on Workday Extend and/or Workday Orchestrate development experience.

Proven experience leading Workday technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Workday Extend Development

Develop, test, and deploy Workday Extend applications based on business requirements. Configure application functionality, user interfaces, and data interactions within Workday Extend. Participate in solution design discussions and technical workshops. Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis. Maintain technical documentation and support materials.

Support

Workday release testing and application upgrades.

Workday

Orchestration & Process Automation. Build and maintain Workday Orchestrations to automate business processes. Assist in identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort. Configure workflow steps, notifications, approvals, and system interactions. Monitor orchestration performance and resolve processing issues. Collaborate with integration teams to support Workday APIs, Web Services, EIBs, and Core Connectors. Assist with data mapping, testing, and troubleshooting integration issues. Support inbound and outbound data interfaces associated with Extend applications. Validate data accuracy and consistency across systems.

Testing & Deployment

Perform unit testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

Create and maintain test scenarios and test documentation.

Support application deployments and post-production validation activities. Ensure solutions meet functional and technical requirements. Production Support & Continuous Improvement

Provide ongoing support for Workday Extend applications and Orchestrations. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Participate in Workday release reviews and feature adoption activities. Recommend enhancements and process improvements. Support knowledge-sharing and documentation initiatives.

Hands-on experience with Workday Extend and/or Workday Orchestrate.
