VoiceCare AI
Bengaluru
Voicecare AI is the leading AI Agent platform for Healthcare & Dental RCM and the Patient Journey. Our mission is to improve access, adherence, and outcomes for patients and the healthcare workforce through generative AI technology. VoiceCare AI operates with security and compliance at its core, being SOC 2 Type II attested and HIPAA compliant.
This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI-driven healthcare and make a meaningful impact on the healthcare workforce. The company has raised $4.54M from Mayo Clinic, Caduceus Capital, Bread & Butter ventures, and others.
About the roleYou'll own the AI strategy, architecture, and team behind VoiceCare's platform - a portfolio of AI systems that spans real-time voice (Joy), multi-modal orchestration across voice/SMS/document, call summarization and analytics, and document intelligence.
This is a leadership role: you set the technical vision, build and grow the AI engineering team, and are accountable for the quality, latency, cost, and safety of production AI operating in a PHI-sensitive workplace. You'll balance long-range strategy with the technical depth to make the hard architecture calls yourself.
- Lead cross-functional execution with backend, product, and third-party vendors (EHR middleware, telephony carriers).
- Own the AI system's compliance posture for HIPAA / PHI in partnership with security and leadership.
- Communicate strategy, trade-offs, and progress to executives and stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Own the AI/ML technical vision and roadmap across the full agent portfolio - voice, multi-modal orchestration, summarization/analytics, document intelligence, and computer-use agents - tied to clear business outcomes (containment, accuracy, cost per interaction).
- Lead, mentor, and grow the AI engineering team - hiring, leveling, career development, and day-to-day technical direction.
- Set the end-to-end architecture for the voice pipeline (STT → LLM → TTS,
retrieval, tool calling, telephony) and for the orchestration layer that coordinates AI across modalities, document processing, and agentic web/EHR automation - and define the standards the team builds against.
- Define and drive service-level objectives per surface - e.g., p95 time-to-first-token for voice, grounding accuracy and ungrounded-clinical-claim rate for RAG, extraction accuracy and confidence thresholds for documents, task success rate for computer-use agents - and hold the team to them.
- Own model strategy: build-vs-buy decisions, provider and region selection, and a rigorous benchmarking practice across latency, cost, and quality.
- Establish the evaluation and quality framework spanning retrieval, generation, summarization, document extraction, and agent task completion - plus the safety posture for clinical and grounded responses.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years in software / applied ML, including experience leading and growing engineering teams.
- Deep, hands-on expertise shipping LLM / applied-ML systems in production.
- Demonstrated track record of shipping with real-time, streaming, and low latency latency-critical systems - voice and telephony
- Demonstrated architecture leadership on complex, multi-component systems.
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and retain strong engineers.
- Excellent judgment on build-vs-buy and vendor selection, backed by evidence.
- Voice AI infrastructure depth: SIP trunking, codecs, VAD, voice AI orchestration frameworks, full-duplex / S2S model landscape.
- Experience shipping multi-modal or multi-agent systems and the orchestration patterns that hold them together.
- Document intelligence at scale (extraction, summarization, confidence/quality gating) and/or computer-use agent systems in production.
- Experience in healthcare or another regulated domain, with real HIPAA / PHI operating experience.
- Familiarity with the RAG and LLM-evaluation tooling ecosystem and modern LLM tool-calling patterns.
