Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate, caring, and creative Pre-Primary Teacher with 2-4 years of experience to join our early years team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of early childhood development and experience creating engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with the Cambridge Early Years approach.
The teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where young learners develop confidence, curiosity, communication skills, independence, and a love for learning.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and play-based learning experiences aligned with the Cambridge Early Years framework.
- Develop weekly and daily lesson plans incorporating activity-based, experiential, and child-centred learning.
- Support childrens development across communication and language, physical development, personal-social-emotional development, early mathematics, literacy, creative expression, and understanding of the world.
- Use stories, rhymes, music, art, role play, sensory activities, games, and hands-on experiences to make learning meaningful.
- Create an attractive, stimulating, and well-organised classroom environment with appropriate learning resources and displays.
- Observe and assess childrens learning and developmental progress through continuous observation and formative assessment.
- Maintain appropriate records of childrens progress and use observations to plan differentiated learning experiences.
- Identify individual learning needs and provide appropriate support and differentiation.
- Encourage childrens independence, confidence, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Establish positive classroom routines and promote appropriate behaviour through positive reinforcement.
- Ensure the health, safety, safeguarding, and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Build warm and respectful relationships with children and create an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding childrens learning, development, behaviour, and wellbeing.
- Participate in parent meetings, school events, celebrations, workshops, and extracurricular activities.
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers, teaching assistants, coordinators, and other school staff.
- Integrate age-appropriate technology and digital resources where they enhance learning.
- Prepare teaching-learning materials and maintain classroom resources effectively.
- Participate in professional development and continuously improve teaching practices.
- Follow school policies, curriculum guidelines, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards.
