Job Purpose To lead and manage all security operations of the port facility, ensure compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, protect personnel and assets, maintain liaison with regulatory authorities, and provide an effective security framework for uninterrupted port operations.
Key Responsibilities
Security Governance and Compliance
- Implement, monitor, and periodically update the Port Facility Security Assessment (PFSA) and Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP).
- Ensure compliance with ISPS Code requirements and applicable security regulations.
- Coordinate ISPS renewal audits, surveillance audits, and inspections.
- Conduct internal security audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
Risk Management
- Conduct security risk assessments and threat analyses.
- Implement preventive and corrective actions to mitigate security threats.
- Monitor intelligence inputs and coordinate with relevant agencies.
Security Operations
- Ensure adequate deployment of security personnel across the port facility.
- Monitor access control, perimeter security, and cargo movement.
- Prevent pilferage, sabotage, unauthorized access, and security breaches.
Emergency Response
- Develop and maintain Quick Reaction Teams (QRT).
- Conduct emergency preparedness drills and security exercises.
- Lead security response during emergencies and incidents.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain liaison with Customs, Police, Coast Guard, MMB, DG Shipping, Intelligence Bureau, and other authorities.
- Conduct Port Facility Security Committee meetings and security review meetings.
Training and Development
- Organize security awareness programs for employees and security staff.
- Ensure regular training on ISPS requirements, emergency procedures, and security protocols.
Reporting and Documentation
- Ensure timely submission of daily, weekly, monthly, and incident reports.
- Maintain all statutory security records and registers.
- Review performance reports and security metrics regularly.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Certification as Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Security Operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role in Port, Industrial, Maritime, Defense, or Infrastructure Security.
