Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Mathematics

Reports To: Principal / Head of School

Job Summary The PGT Mathematics will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to senior secondary students, developing effective lesson plans, preparing students for board examinations, and ensuring strong academic outcomes through engaging and student-centered teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach Mathematics to Classes XI and XII as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare and deliver effective lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Explain mathematical concepts clearly using appropriate teaching methodologies.
- Prepare students for CBSE Board examinations and competitive examinations where applicable.
- Conduct regular assessments, tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify students who require additional academic support and provide remedial teaching.
- Encourage analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic performance, and assessments.
- Prepare question papers, worksheets, assignments, and other academic materials.
- Integrate technology and digital resources into classroom teaching where appropriate.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff meetings, workshops, and training programmes.
- Maintain discipline and create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student academic progress when required.
- Participate in school events, academic activities, competitions, and co-curricular programmes.
- Follow school policies, academic guidelines, and CBSE requirements.




- Contribute to curriculum planning and academic improvement initiatives.
- Perform other academic responsibilities assigned by the Principal or Management.

Educational Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution is mandatory/preferred as per applicable school and CBSE requirements.
- Candidates meeting the applicable CBSE eligibility requirements for PGT Mathematics will be preferred.

Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school preferred.
- Experience handling Classes XI & XII and CBSE Board preparation will be an advantage.
- Freshers with excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills may also be considered.

- Ability to simplify complex mathematical concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of the CBSE curriculum.

- Ability to motivate and engage senior secondary students.
- Strong assessment and student-support skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with CBSE school experience will be given preference.
- Candidates with consistently good academic results and Board examination experience are preferred.
- Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, patience, and a student-focused approach.
- Candidates from the nearby/local area may be preferred based on the school's requirements.
