Ananant Systems is a product-based semiconductor and wireless systems company building advanced silicon and systems for next-generation connectivity and AI applications.

We are looking for a highly experienced PCB / System Design Lead to take ownership of board-level hardware architecture and development for complex FPGA/SoC-based systems. The role requires robust hands-on expertise in high-speed digital design, power architecture, schematic design, board bring-up and system validation, along with the ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams.

Role Overview

As a PCB / System Design Lead, you will be responsible for driving the complete hardware development lifecycle — from system requirements and architecture through schematic design, PCB development, prototype bring-up, validation, production and sustaining engineering.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience designing complex, high-speed boards involving FPGA/SoC, DDR, PCIe, SERDES, Ethernet and high-speed data interfaces, along with strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, thermal considerations and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end system and PCB hardware design for complex FPGA/SoC-based products.
- Translate system requirements into hardware architecture, block diagrams and detailed design specifications.
- Lead schematic capture, circuit design, component selection and design reviews.
- Design and review high-speed digital and mixed-signal boards involving FPGA / SoC, DDR3 / DDR4, PCIe, SERDES / JESD, Ethernet / 10G interfaces, SFP / QSFP, I2C / SPI and other peripheral interfaces.
- Own power architecture, including DC/DC conversion, power sequencing, reset circuits and power distribution.
- Work closely with PCB layout teams on stack-up, routing, constraints, signal integrity and power integrity.
- Drive SI/PI analysis, high-speed interface characterization and resolution of board-level issues.
- Lead prototype board bring-up, debugging, validation and characterization.
- Develop hardware validation plans and coordinate DVT, thermal, reliability and environmental testing.
- Work closely with FPGA,



firmware, mechanical, RF, SI/PI, manufacturing and system engineering teams.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware issues during prototype, validation and production.
- Own PCB design reviews, BOM release, component lifecycle management and engineering change activities.
- Work with PCB fabrication, assembly and contract manufacturing partners to ensure successful board builds.
- Support NPI, production ramp-up and sustaining engineering activities.
- Drive design optimization, cost reduction, component replacement and redesign initiatives without compromising product performance.
- Lead and mentor hardware engineers and provide technical direction across projects.
- Manage external vendors, design partners and globally distributed engineering teams as required.
- Ensure hardware designs meet applicable quality, reliability and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

- 12+ years of experience in hardware / PCB / system design.
- Strong experience in FPGA/SoC-based board design and system architecture.
- Proven experience with complex high-speed digital PCB design.
- Strong understanding of high-speed signal integrity, power integrity, DDR interfaces, PCIe, SERDES, Ethernet, SFP/QSFP and JESD or similar high-speed interfaces.
- Strong hands-on experience with schematic capture, component selection and circuit design.
- Good understanding of power supplies, power sequencing, reset architecture and board-level power distribution.
- Experience with PCB layout review, routing constraints and stack-up definition.
- Strong hands-on experience in board bring-up, debugging and signal characterization.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers,



spectrum analyzers and other hardware lab equipment.
- Experience in DVT, validation, thermal testing, reliability testing and NPI.
- Experience working with PCB fabrication, assembly and manufacturing teams.
- Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with 5G / wireless / telecom hardware.
- Experience designing boards for baseband, networking or high-performance compute systems.
- Experience with FPGA platforms such as Xilinx or Altera/Intel.
- Experience with SoCs, network processors and high-speed communication architectures.
- Experience with 48V / telecom power systems is a plus.
- Experience with Altium, Cadence Allegro / OrCAD or similar PCB design tools.
- Experience with product development from architecture through mass production.
- Experience in cost optimization, component lifecycle management and production sustaining.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for a hands-on technical leader, not just a project manager.

You should be comfortable moving between system architecture, schematic design, PCB reviews, SI/PI issues, lab debugging and manufacturing challenges, while also providing technical leadership to the broader hardware team.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of complex hardware products and driving them from concept → design → prototype → bring-up → validation → production.

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong relevant industry experience will be considered.
