Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Paint Shop to support and manage day-to-day paint shop operations. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, process control, quality, manpower management, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and monitor daily paint shop production activities to achieve production targets.
- Plan manpower, machines, materials, and production schedules.
- Supervise and coordinate paint shop operators, technicians, and team leaders.
- Monitor painting processes such as pre-treatment, powder coating / liquid painting, primer, top coat, baking/curing, and finishing as applicable.
- Ensure proper paint quality, thickness, adhesion, colour matching, surface finish, and curing parameters.
- Monitor and control paint, thinner, chemicals, consumables, and other material usage.
- Reduce paint wastage, rejection, rework, and process losses.
- Ensure compliance with defined SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, and process parameters.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Production Planning, Stores, and Purchase departments.
- Identify process problems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor daily production, rejection, rework, downtime,



and productivity reports.
- Support 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of paint booths, ovens, pumps, guns, conveyors, and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, PPE, environmental, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide guidance and training to shop-floor employees.
- Support audits related to quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly performance reports to management.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of paint shop processes and manufacturing operations.
- Good understanding of paint defects and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and quality improvement tools.
- Good manpower handling and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of production planning and process control.
- Ability to work under production targets and deadlines.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.

Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in automotive components, automobile manufacturing, sheet metal, fabrication, industrial equipment, or engineering manufacturing will be preferred.
