About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly hands-on Construction Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of approximately 5-6 road construction projects running simultaneously.

This is a central operations and management role. The company has the required machinery, manpower and other resources; the responsibility of this position is to ensure that these resources are properly managed, coordinated and utilised to achieve planned production and project deadlines.

The person will work closely with site supervisors, engineers, operators, mechanics, transporters, data entry operator and other teams and will act as the key link between the sites and management.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and monitor day-to-day operations across multiple road construction sites.
- Ensure sites start and progress as per the planned work programme and deadlines.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and ensure planned vs actual work is continuously monitored.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks and operational problems early and ensure timely resolution.
- Manage deployment and utilisation of existing machinery and manpower across sites.
- Coordinate machinery breakdowns, repairs, maintenance and inter-site movement to minimise downtime.
- Monitor diesel allocation and consumption and identify abnormal or avoidable usage.
- Coordinate material and transportation requirements to ensure uninterrupted execution.
- Manage and follow up with site supervisors, ensuring accountability for production and execution.
- Handle site-level operational and local issues and resolve them independently wherever possible.
- Monitor critical activities and ensure delayed projects have practical recovery plans.




- Identify operational inefficiencies and continuously look for cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, safety or project requirements.
- Maintain a central view of the operational status of all projects and provide concise, accurate updates to management.
- Establish disciplined systems for daily planning, reporting, follow-up and closure of operational issues.
- Analyse recurring problems and implement measures to prevent them from happening repeatedly.
- Regularly visit project sites to verify execution, understand ground-level issues and improve operational performance.

What We Are Looking For
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering preferred; robust practical experience will also be considered.
- 5–10+ years of relevant experience in road construction/infrastructure, preferably with experience handling multiple sites.
- Strong practical understanding of road construction and construction machinery.
- Excellent coordination, follow-up and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with different deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of machinery utilisation, fuel management, manpower and site productivity.
- Commercially minded and conscious of time, productivity and operational costs.
- Proactive and capable of identifying problems before they become major delays.
- Decisive and capable of taking ownership of operational issues rather than simply reporting them.
- Honest, dependable and comfortable working in a high-responsibility, field-oriented role.
- Comfortable with Excel and basic operational reporting.

What Success Looks Like The person should enable management to manage the business rather than personally manage every site. Basically every problem must not reach to the management, only major problems should.
