Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Network Engineer to manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, network, servers, cybersecurity systems, hardware, cloud environment, email systems, and IT assets.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring network availability, server uptime, data security, system performance, backups, and smooth day-to-day IT operations across the office and plant locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Server Management
- Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot in-house rack servers.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Manage Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file servers.
- Monitor server performance, storage capacity, system health, and uptime.
- Manage server upgrades, patches, firmware updates, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain proper server documentation and configuration records.
2. Network Infrastructure
- Configure and maintain LAN/WAN, switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points, and network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, speed, IP conflicts, DNS issues, and other network problems.
- Manage VLANs, IP addressing, routing, DHCP, DNS, and network access.
- Monitor network performance and identify potential failures or bottlenecks.
- Ensure reliable connectivity between office, factory, and remote locations.
3. Sophos Firewall & Security
- Hands-on experience with Sophos Firewall configuration and administration.
- Configure firewall policies, NAT, VPN, web filtering, application control, and security rules.
- Monitor firewall logs and network traffic for suspicious activities.
- Configure and maintain endpoint security and antivirus solutions.
- Implement appropriate cybersecurity measures to protect company systems and data.
4. Cloud Infrastructure
- Configure, maintain, and monitor cloud servers and cloud infrastructure.
- Manage cloud-based virtual machines, storage, backups, networking, and access controls.
- Monitor cloud server performance, availability, and resource utilization.
- Coordinate cloud migration, upgrades, and troubleshooting when required.
- Experience with platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other cloud environments will be an advantage.
5. System & Hardware Maintenance
- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, servers, and other IT hardware.
- Diagnose hardware failures and coordinate repairs/replacements.
- Manage system upgrades, RAM/SSD/HDD replacements, operating system installations, and software deployment.
- Ensure all systems are properly configured and maintained.

Email & Communication Systems
- Manage company email accounts, user access, distribution groups, and email configurations.
- Configure email accounts on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot email delivery, authentication, spam, and security-related issues.
- Manage email security, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC where applicable.
- Coordinate with email/cloud service providers for technical issues.
7. IT Asset Management
- Maintain a complete and updated IT asset register for computers, servers, networking equipment, printers, software licenses, and other IT assets.
- Track asset allocation, movement, warranty, AMC, repairs, and replacement schedules.
- Maintain proper documentation for IT purchases and asset handover.
- Monitor software licenses and ensure compliance.
8. Backup & Data Protection
- Implement and monitor regular server, system, and critical data backups.
- Periodically verify backup integrity and restoration capability.
- Maintain appropriate backup schedules and retention policies.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.
9. User & IT Support
- Provide day-to-day technical support to employees for hardware, software, network, email, and connectivity issues.
- Create and manage user accounts and access permissions.
- Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft Office, printers, network drives, VPN, and other common IT issues.
- Maintain an IT support/request tracking system and ensure timely resolution.
10. IT Security & Compliance
- Ensure systems are protected against malware, viruses, unauthorized access, and other cybersecurity threats.
- Implement security patches and regular updates.
- Manage user access, passwords, permissions, and endpoint security.
- Conduct periodic checks of firewall, antivirus, server, and network security.
- Develop and maintain IT security policies and SOPs.
11. IT Documentation & SOPs
- Prepare and maintain SOPs for server management, network operations, backups, cybersecurity, user access, and IT support.
- Maintain updated network diagrams, IP address records, server configurations, and firewall configurations.
- Maintain technical documentation for all critical IT infrastructure.
12. Vendor & AMC Management
- Coordinate with external IT vendors, hardware suppliers, internet service providers, cloud providers, and AMC/service partners.
- Manage service calls, warranty claims, AMC requirements,
and technical escalations.
- Evaluate technical requirements and provide recommendations to management before IT purchases.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor internet bandwidth and coordinate with ISPs for connectivity issues.
- Manage VPN connectivity for remote users and locations.
- Support CCTV/NVR and other network-connected devices where required.
- Assist with IT infrastructure setup for new offices, factories, and project locations.
- Plan network and server infrastructure for future expansion.
- Maintain minimum downtime and ensure quick resolution of critical IT incidents.
- Participate in periodic IT audits and infrastructure reviews.
- Ensure IT systems are properly secured, documented, and maintained.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's/Diploma qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in network and system administration.
- Proven experience in in-house rack server configuration and maintenance.
- Strong experience with Windows Server administration.
- Hands-on experience with Sophos Firewall.
- Good knowledge of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, routers, and switches.
- Experience in system hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience in firewall, antivirus, endpoint security, and cybersecurity.
- Experience in cloud server configuration and maintenance.
- Experience in email administration and troubleshooting.
- Positive knowledge of IT asset management and documentation.
