Kanakia International School - IB Chembur is looking for a passionate and experienced MYP Mathematics Teacher to teach Grades 6–8. The candidate should be able to create engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that build students’ conceptual understanding, mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Mathematics lessons for MYP Grades 6–8.
- Develop lesson plans and learning experiences aligned with the IB MYP framework.
- Use inquiry-based, concept-driven and student-centred teaching approaches.
- Develop students’ critical thinking, reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Prepare assessments, worksheets and other learning resources.
- Assess student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback.
- Identify individual learning needs and provide appropriate support.
- Integrate real-world applications and technology into Mathematics learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary learning and curriculum planning.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and learning needs.
- Participate in school events, meetings and career development programmes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mathematics or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant Mathematics teaching experience.
- IB MYP teaching experience will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
- Good classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the academic team.
