Key Responsibilities1.
Shift
Supervision &
- Manpower Allocation
- Job Deployment: Allocate daily duties to Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) operators, dump truck drivers, and general mine laborers at the start of every shift.
- Site Inspections: Conduct routine inspections (at least twice per shift) of the entire assigned district, including benches, faces, dump yards, and haul roads.
- Operational Control: Supervise loading, dozing, crushing, transportation, and dumping operations to meet daily production targets safely.
- Infrastructure Monitoring: Ensure that site equipment—such as dewatering pumps, lighting plants, and ventilation networks—is functioning optimally.
2. Safety &
- Statutory Compliance
- Regulatory Compliance: Enforce exact regulations stipulated by regional mining acts (e.g., the Metalliferous Mines Regulations (MMR) or DGMS standards in India).
- Strata Control &
- Side Dressing:
Routinely examine the hangwall, footwall, roof, and sides of working areas. Order the "dressing" of any dangerous overhangs, loose rocks, or unstable benches.
- Hazard Mitigation: Fenced off dangerous areas, old workings, and unstable structures to prevent unauthorized entry.
- Emergency Response: Lead immediate corrective actions in the field during emergencies, accidents, or sudden hazardous changes in weather/ground conditions.
3. Blasting &
- Explosives Support
- Drilling &
- Blasting Supervision:
Assist or guide the Blaster in checking the depth and alignment of drill holes.
- Explosives Handling: Supervise the secure transport, handling, charging, and firing of explosives at the mine face.
- Post-Blast Clearances: Inspect the blast area post-detonation for misfires or loose rock before allowing machinery and workers back to the site.
4. Documentation &
- Reporting
- Shift Logging: Maintain accurate statutory logs, production metrics, and shift reports tracking equipment downtime and manpower attendance.
- Safety Briefings: Conduct mandatory daily tool-box talks and safety briefings before workers head to the faces.
Job Requirements &
- QualificationsEducation &
- Statutory Certifications
- Academic: High School / Matriculation (Class X) pass minimum; a Diploma or B.E. in Mining Engineering is highly preferred.
- Statutory Certificate: Valid Mining Mate Certificate of Competency issued by the relevant regulatory authority (e.g., DGMS in India), classified as either:
- Unrestricted: For Underground + Opencast mines.
- Restricted: For Opencast mines only.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
