MES Consultant – PSI Métal Quality Management

Experience: 5–8 years

Role Purpose The MES Consultant will analyze, configure, develop, implement, and support Manufacturing Execution System solutions for steel quality management, with a primary focus on PSI Metals Quality and Deviation Management.

The role combines strong steel manufacturing process knowledge with hands-on Oracle PL/SQL expertise and supports global rollout projects, system integration, production support, and continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

Functional and Solution Delivery

- Analyze business requirements and translate steel quality-management processes into functional MES solution designs.
- Configure PSI Metals Quality and Deviation Management functions, including inspection, non-conformance, traceability, certification, rework, and sample-management processes.
- Facilitate workshops with business, quality, production, and IT stakeholders to validate requirements, process flows, and solution scope.
- Prepare functional specifications, process models, configuration documentation, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate and support system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing, including defect analysis and resolution follow-up.
- Support deployment, cutover, user training, hyper care, and continuous improvement to ensure effective solution adoption.

Technical Delivery and Application Support

- Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, queries, and reports.
- Perform data analysis, troubleshooting, database optimization, and SQL performance tuning for large production environments.
- Design, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot interfaces between PSI Metals and external applications.
- Delivery system enhancements, bug fixes, controlled deployments, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- Support incident, problem, change, release, and production-support processes in line with agreed service levels and governance controls.
- Contribute to global rollout waves across heterogeneous IT landscapes, initially in Europe.
- Support ServiceDesk and BAU Teams for our 24/7 Application as Domain expert in critical incidents.

Project and Stakeholder Responsibilities

- Act as expert when required, review solution and project documentation, and guide resolution of technical issues.
- Present the work done and its value to business value to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide clear inputs for effort and cost estimates and work with delivery teams to optimize value.




- Contribute technical content to statements of work and support procurement and legal teams with contractual documentation.
- Work effectively across global, multicultural teams and manage priorities independently under demanding deadlines.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology, Computer Applications, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in MES consulting, implementation, development, or application support.
- Strong end-to-end understanding of steel manufacturing and steel quality processes.
- Hands-on experience with quality control, inspection, non-conformance, deviation, traceability,

certification, rework, and sample-management processes.
- Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development skills, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Experience in requirements analysis, solution design, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
- Customer-facing communication and workshop facilitation skills.
- Professional proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

- Hands-on knowledge of PSI Metals Quality, Deviation, Rework, and Sample Management modules.
- Understanding of the PSI Metals data model, factory model, service framework, integration concepts, configuration, and customization.
- Experience with another Level 3 MES platform used in steel manufacturing, such as SMS, Danieli, ABB

Ability, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens Opcenter, GE Digital Proficy, or a comparable custom solution.
- Knowledge of Linux, Java, Oracle database administration, monitoring, APIs, middleware, or message-based integration.
- Experience with Power BI, Qlik, or Azure/cloud data-integration solutions.
- Experience in global rollouts, Agile or Waterfall delivery, ITIL processes, commercial estimation, or technical presales.
- Additional European language skills are an advantage.

Working Conditions

Location: Hyderabad, India

- Domestic and international travel is required based on project milestones and business needs, including travel to European locations.
- The role requires planned working-hour overlap with Central European Time while remaining aligned with India Standard Time.
- Expected availability to join within 60 days.
