Position : Merchandise Planning Analyst

Shift : Night Shift (6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST)

Location : Remote (Permanent work from home)

Role Description

You are the analytics partner to merchandising and planning. The role requires following an open-to-buy review in detail and then automating the reporting behind it.You will own the merchandising view of the business across four brands: sales and inventory performance, what is on order, and margin after markdown and returns. The work is roughly half analysis and stakeholder partnership, half building the models and BI reporting that make the analysis repeatable.

Qualifications

- 4–7 years in merchandise planning, buying, allocation or merchandising analytics, in apparel or another SKU-heavy, seasonal, size-and-color category (footwear, accessories, sporting goods, home textiles).
- Fluency in the working language of the function: open-to-buy, receipt flow, sell-through, weeks of supply, turn, initial markup, maintained margin, markdown cadence, size curve, ASP, and the difference between demand and shipped sales.
- Expert Excel: pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, and large multi-sheet planning workbooks they built and maintained.
- Power BI at a build level:

they create their own data model, relationships and DAX measures rather than working only from reports built by others.
- Strong SQL, or demonstrated capability in a comparable analytical workplace plus a commitment to reaching SQL proficiency within the first quarter.
- Has reconciled product data across disconnected systems: an ERP, an ecommerce platform and an order management system that do not agree.
- Has influenced a buy, assortment or markdown decision with their own analysis.

Preferred

- dbt, Python or another modeling framework.
- Hands-on with a merchandise planning system: Anaplan, o9, RELEX, Blue Yonder, Oracle Retail or an in-house equivalent.
- Allocation or replenishment exposure, particularly at size level.
- Both wholesale and D2C experience, and an understanding of how differently the two behave.
- Forecasting background, statistical or judgment-based. Accountability for a forecast matters more than the method used.
- Looker Studio or another self-serve BI tool alongside Power BI.
- Multi-brand or portfolio planning experience.
