Role Summary

PennAero is recruiting a Fasteners Manager for its Bengaluru operations to own the manufacturing, quality, and delivery performance of aerospace fastener product lines (bolts, rivets, lockbolts, blind fasteners, and related hardware manufactured to MS, NAS, AN, and customer-proprietary specifications). The role owns the fastener value stream from raw-material release through finishing, special processing, and final inspection, and is directly accountable for AS9100/Nadcap-compliant quality outcomes and on-time delivery. This is a people-leadership role: the incumbent will lead a team of 4-5 process/quality engineers or shift supervisors and serve as the site's technical authority on fastener manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop a team of 4-5 fastener process engineers, quality engineers, or shift supervisors, including workload planning, coaching, and performance management.
- Own production planning and throughput for fastener manufacturing cells (heading/forming, thread rolling, heat treatment, plating/coating, and finishing), meeting rate, cost, and on-time-delivery targets.
- Ensure fastener product conformance to applicable specifications (NAS, MS, AN, BAC, customer-proprietary) and to AS9100/Nadcap special-process requirements (heat treat, plating, non-destructive testing).
- Maintain full lot traceability from raw material melt/heat through finished part,



supporting customer and regulatory audits and AS6174 counterfeit-parts prevention requirements.
- Drive root-cause investigation and corrective/preventive action for fastener non-conformances, scrap, and customer returns; own escalation of critical quality issues.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance on first-article inspection, PPAP/FAI documentation, SPC data, and Nadcap audit readiness for special processes.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships for outsourced special processes (plating, heat treat, NDT) where applicable, including qualification and performance monitoring.
- Lead continuous-improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across the fastener line (cycle time, tool/die life, yield, rework reduction).
- Support new part introduction and program ramp activities, including process qualification for current fastener part numbers and materials (titanium, Inconel/A286, corrosion-resistant steel, aluminum).
- Report fastener line KPIs (OTD, first-pass yield, scrap, audit findings) to plant leadership and support monthly operating reviews.

Required Qualifications

Experience

- Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in fastener or precision-hardware manufacturing,



with meaningful exposure to aerospace-grade fasteners (bolts, rivets, lockbolts, or blind fasteners).
- At least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, having directly led a team (this role: 4-5 direct reports).
- Hands-on exposure to fastener-specific manufacturing processes: cold heading/forming, thread rolling, heat treatment, and plating/coating.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap requirements as applied to special processes and fastener manufacturing.

Education & Technical Skills

- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Production, or a related engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with aerospace fastener specifications (NAS, MS, AN, BAC) and material standards for titanium, nickel alloys, CRES, and aluminum fasteners.
- Understanding of GD&T;, SPC/statistical methods, and root-cause/corrective-action tools (8D, fishbone, 5-why).
- Exposure to ERP/MES systems for production scheduling and traceability.
