Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Maintenance Specialist to manage the electrical systems and controls of our scrap tire recycling equipment , including the debeader, double shaft shredder, rasper, granulator, and grinding mill . The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, automation systems, and motor control.
Key Responsibilities
:
Equipment & Systems Management:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for:
Debeader (motorized steel bead removal)
Double Shaft Shredder (high-power motors and control panels)
Rasper , Granulator , and Grinding Mill (motor drives, automation systems)
Monitor and calibrate electrical instruments and controls.
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Automation & Control Systems:
Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
Maintain SCADA systems and data acquisition interfaces for plant monitoring.
Optimize electrical and control systems for performance and safety.
Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Conduct routine inspections of electrical panels, motors, and control circuits.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and ensure rapid restoration of service.
Electrical Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with national electrical codes, safety standards, and internal policies.
Perform risk assessments and electrical safety audits.
Supervise electrical isolation and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and maintenance logs.
Generate reports on energy usage, equipment performance, and downtime analysis.
Participate in root cause analysis of electrical failures.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with mechanical, production, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations.
Provide training and technical support to technicians and operators on electrical systems.
Installation Phase:
Interpret and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), layouts, cable schedules, and technical specifications.
Supervise installation of electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, motors, MCCs, control panels, cable trays, and earthing systems.
Ensure installation activities are performed as per approved drawings and project specifications.
Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and civil teams to resolve interface issues.
Perform inspections, cable meggering, loop checks, and termination verification.
Maintain daily work progress reports and installation checklists.
Commissioning Phase:
Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for electrical systems.
Conduct pre-commissioning checks: continuity, insulation resistance, torque settings, CT/VT polarity, and functional testing.
Coordinate energization of switchboards, transformers, and panels with safety protocols in place.
Perform system start-up, load trials, and troubleshoot electrical issues during commissioning.
Work with automation/instrumentation teams for power and control integration.
Ensure all systems meet performance specifications and safety regulations before handover.
Qualification
:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering , or a related field.
Experience
:
Minimum 35 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Solid background in industrial motor control , automation , and troubleshooting .
Experience with tire recycling, rubber processing, or heavy machinery is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
:
- Proficient with PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs , and VFDs .
- Understanding of three-phase systems , motor protection , load calculations , and power distribution .
- Familiar with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety regulations (NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEC standards, etc.).
