Position Description:

We are looking for a Mainframe Apprentice who has completed foundational training in mainframe technologies.

The candidate will work under the guidance of experienced team members and gain hands-on experience in mainframe application development, testing, and support.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Roles Responsibilities.

Support mainframe application development and maintenance activities under the guidance of senior team members.

Create, modify and execute basic JCL jobs and analyse job outputs.

Perform basic COBOL coding, testing, and debugging under supervision.

Write and execute basic DB2 SQL queries and support data-related activities.

Analyse basic compile errors, JCL errors, and job monitoring and abends with guidance.

Follow established coding, testing, documentation, and change-management processes.





Learn and adapt to the organization's mainframe applications, tools, and business processes.

Work closely with senior developers/support teams and progressively take ownership of assigned tasks

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Technical skills

COBOL,JCL,DB2, VSAM, CICS

Mainframe utilities, and z/OS concepts
