Job Summary

We are looking for a Client Developer Lead for TeleOS to own the design, development, and delivery of client-side applications and experiences on the TeleOS platform. You will lead a team of client developers building native or cross-platform clients (TV, set-top, mobile, or other TeleOS devices), drive technical excellence, and ensure alignment with product, UX, and platform teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end client application development for TeleOS: UI, business logic, device APIs, and integration with TeleOS platform services.

- Architect and implement client solutions (native or cross-platform) that meet performance, usability, and reliability requirements on TeleOS devices.

- Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices for TeleOS client codebase(s).

- Lead a team of client developers; assign work, conduct code reviews, and ensure timely delivery of features and fixes.

- Mentor developers on TeleOS platform, client architecture, and tools; support hiring and onboarding.

- Set technical goals, track velocity and quality metrics, and remove blockers for the team.

- Participate in architecture and design reviews for TeleOS client features; ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with platform capabilities.

- Drive sprint planning, estimation, and release coordination with product and QA; own quality and stability of client releases.

- Collaborate with platform/backend and UX teams on APIs, contracts, and interaction models for TeleOS clients.

- Stay current with TeleOS SDK, APIs, and platform evolution; guide adoption of new platform features and deprecations.





- Identify technical debt, performance issues, and refactoring opportunities; prioritize and drive improvement initiatives.

- Represent the client team in cross-functional forums (product, platform, operations) for TeleOS roadmap and dependencies.

Required Skillset

- Must have: 6+ years of experience in client/application development, with 2+ years in a tech lead or team lead role.

- Client-side development:

- Solid proficiency in one or more of:

- Native: C/C++, Java/Kotlin (Android), Swift/Objective-C (iOS), or platform-specific SDKs used by TeleOS.

- Cross-platform: React Native, Flutter, or similar for TV/STB/mobile clients.

- Experience with UI frameworks, event-driven and async programming, and state management in client apps.

- Understanding of memory management, threading, and performance optimization on resource-constrained or embedded-style devices (if applicable to TeleOS).

- TeleOS / set-top / TV / device context:

- Experience developing for set-top boxes, smart TV, OTT, or connected device platforms (e.g. Android TV, Tizen, custom Linux/RTOS-based stacks).

- Familiarity with media playback (video/audio pipelines, DRM, streaming protocols) and remote/input handling (D-pad, remote control, voice) where relevant to TeleOS.





- Ability to work with platform APIs, middleware, and device constraints (resolution, memory, CPU) typical of TeleOS targets.

- Software engineering practices:

- Version control (Git), code review, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD for client builds and releases.

- Agile/Scrum experience; ability to break down features into tasks, estimate, and deliver in sprints.

- Debugging and troubleshooting on device and in emulators/simulators; familiarity with platform-specific tooling and logs.

- Leadership and communication:

- Proven ability to lead a development team: planning, mentoring, and delivery ownership.

- Clear verbal and written communication; ability to document designs, runbooks, and decisions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Good to have:

- Direct experience with TeleOS or similar telecom/OTT client platforms.

- Knowledge of Jio or similar operator/OTT ecosystems (content, auth, billing, recommendations).

- Media stack: ExoPlayer, GStreamer, FFmpeg, or equivalent; DRM (Widevine, PlayReady) and adaptive streaming (HLS, DASH).

- Accessibility and localization for client apps.

- C++ or Java/Kotlin at system or middleware level for set-top/embedded-style clients.

- Certifications or formal training in Android TV, embedded systems, or media development.
