Java Developer - Mid-Level

Independent Contractor | Remote | India

We are looking for a Mid-Level Java Developer to support ongoing projects for a global client. This is a remote, independent contractor position offering a stable 40-hour workweek and an opportunity to work with an international team.

Work Setup

- Independent contractor engagement
- Remote / Work from Home
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Shift: Starts around 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM IST , aligned with the client’s 9:00 AM start time in Austria
- Client is based in Austria

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Java development
- Strong knowledge of Core Java and backend development
- Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Java-based applications
- Experience working in telecom, enterprise, or large-scale environments is highly preferred
- Good understanding of software development best practices
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Valuable communication skills and ability to work effectively with distributed teams
- Comfortable working in a remote environment and collaborating with international stakeholders

Responsibilities




- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications
- Work with cross-functional and distributed teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues
- Perform code reviews and contribute to improving code quality
- Optimize application performance and reliability
- Follow established development, security, and coding standards

Nice to Have
- Experience with Spring/Spring Boot
- Experience with REST APIs and microservices
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Experience working with high-volume or mission-critical applications
- Experience in the telecommunications industry
