Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care & Monitoring

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and unstable patients.

- Continuously monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, ECG, urine output, and other clinical parameters.

- Observe and report any changes in the patient's condition immediately to the doctor.

- Maintain proper positioning, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort of ICU patients.

- Monitor patients on ventilators and other life-support equipment as instructed.

1. Medication & Treatment

- Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed by doctors.

- Follow the correct medication administration procedures and maintain medication records.

- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and immediately report abnormalities.

- Assist doctors during emergency procedures and other bedside interventions.

1. Emergency & Critical Care

- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and cardiac arrest situations.

- Assist in CPR and resuscitation procedures.

- Ensure emergency equipment, crash carts, oxygen, and essential medicines are readily available.

- Assist with intubation, suctioning, and other critical procedures as required.

1. Documentation & Records

- Maintain accurate nursing notes, patient charts, medication records,



intake/output charts, and vital-sign records.

- Complete all ICU documentation accurately and on time.

- Ensure proper handover of patient information during shift changes.

1. Infection Control

- Follow hospital infection-control policies and ICU protocols.

- Maintain proper hand hygiene and use PPE appropriately.

- Follow aseptic techniques during procedures and patient care.

- Maintain cleanliness and proper disposal of biomedical waste.

1. Equipment & ICU Management

- Operate and monitor ICU equipment according to hospital protocols.

- Check ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, suction machines, oxygen supply, and other equipment regularly.

- Report malfunctioning equipment immediately to the concerned department.

- Ensure ICU beds and patient-care areas are clean, safe, and properly prepared.

1. Communication & Coordination

- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing staff, technicians, and other hospital departments.

- Provide explicit and timely patient updates to doctors.

- Communicate professionally with patients' attendants while maintaining patient confidentiality.

- Participate in shift handovers and team discussions.
