Hospertz India Private Limited is looking for a Healthcare Architect with robust experience in hospital planning, healthcare architecture, space planning, and execution coordination.

The candidate will be responsible for developing functional, compliant, and cost-effective architectural solutions for hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, IVF centres, and other healthcare facilities. The role requires close coordination with clients, consultants, MEP teams, interior designers, project management teams, and site execution teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesA.

Healthcare

Planning &

• Architectural Design

- Develop architectural concepts and detailed designs for hospitals and healthcare facilities.
- Prepare department-wise hospital planning and space programming.
- Develop functional adjacencies and patient/staff/service circulation.
- Ensure efficient zoning of clean, semi-clean, sterile, dirty and service areas.
- Prepare architectural layouts based on project requirements, site conditions and operational workflows.

B.

Healthcare

Standards &

• Compliance

- Design healthcare facilities in accordance with applicable NABH requirements, NBC provisions, fire and life-safety requirements, local development regulations and other applicable healthcare standards.
- Understand infection-control principles and incorporate them into planning.
- Ensure appropriate patient, staff, visitor and material movement.
- Consider accessibility and universal design requirements.
- Coordinate with fire consultants and statutory consultants for required approvals.
- Keep updated with relevant healthcare planning standards and statutory requirements.

C. Drawings & • Documentation

- Prepare and review:
- Concept plans
- Schematic layouts
- Detailed architectural drawings
- Floor plans
- Sections and elevations
- Furniture layouts
- Reflected ceiling plans
- Door-window schedules
- Area statements
- Room data sheets
- Departmental layouts




- Construction/detail drawings
- Review drawings prepared by junior architects and draftsmen.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and issued within project timelines.
- Maintain proper drawing revisions and documentation.

D. Coordination with Consultants

- Coordinate architectural requirements with:
- Civil consultants
- Structural consultants
- MEP consultants
- HVAC consultants
- Electrical consultants
- Plumbing consultants
- Fire consultants
- Medical Gas consultants
- Interior designers
- Biomedical equipment planners
- Identify and resolve design clashes and coordination issues.
- Ensure architectural designs are compatible with engineering services and medical equipment requirements.

E. Client &

• Project Coordination

- Attend client meetings and understand project requirements.
- Present concepts, layouts and design proposals to clients.
- Incorporate client feedback while maintaining functionality and compliance.
- Participate in site visits and project review meetings.
- Coordinate with the Project Management and Site Execution teams.
- Provide timely clarification for architectural and design-related site issues.

F. Site & • Execution Support

- Conduct periodic site inspections.
- Verify execution against approved architectural drawings.
- Identify deviations and provide appropriate design solutions.
- Coordinate with contractors and site teams for architectural requirements.
- Review shop drawings and material samples where required.
- Assist in resolving execution-related design issues.

Project

Management &

• Timelines

- Manage assigned architectural deliverables according to project schedules.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously when required.
- Track design submissions, revisions and approvals.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned drawings and documentation.
- Escalate design, coordination or approval-related risks to the reporting manager.

Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of Healthcare Architecture and Hospital Planning
- Understanding of NABH and healthcare planning requirements
- Strong knowledge of architectural planning and space programming
- Knowledge of patient, staff, visitor and service circulation
- Understanding of hospital MEP coordination
- Knowledge of infection-control planning principles
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Knowledge of Revit/BIM will be an advantage
- Knowledge of SketchUp/3D software will be an advantage
- Good understanding of architectural detailing
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Good presentation and client-handling skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability

Educational QualificationMandatory:

- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture – B.Arch
- Valid registration with Council of Architecture (COA) preferred/required as applicable.

Preferred:

- Master's degree/diploma in Healthcare Architecture, Hospital Planning or Healthcare Design.
- Certification/training in healthcare planning or NABH-related requirements.

Experience
- 3–8 years of relevant architectural experience preferred.
- Candidates with demonstrated experience in hospital/healthcare projects will be preferred.
- Experience in Greenfield and Brownfield healthcare projects will be an advantage.
- Experience in turnkey hospital projects, healthcare consultancy or PMC environments will be highly preferred.
